वर्षा-बहार Varsha-Bahar (The Bloom of the Rains)

कवि कहते हैं कि वर्षा की बहार सबके मन को लुभा रही है। आकाश में बादलों की अनोखी घटा छाई हुई है। बिजली चमक रही है, बादल गरज रहे हैं, बारिश हो रही है और झरने भी बहने लगे हैं। ठंडी हवा चल रही है जिससे पेड़ों की डालियाँ हिल रही हैं। बागों में मालिनें (बगीचे में काम करने वाली स्त्रियाँ) सुंदर गीत गा रही हैं। तालाबों में रहने वाले जीव-जंतु बहुत खुश हैं। लाखों पपीहे इधर-उधर घूम रहे हैं और गर्मी की तपन से राहत पा रहे हैं।

The poet says the bloom of the rains delights everyone's heart. A unique, dense cloud-cover has spread across the sky. Lightning flashes, thunder rumbles, rain pours down, and waterfalls too have begun to flow. A cool breeze blows, making tree branches sway. In the gardens, the gardener-women (malinein) sing sweet songs now. Water creatures in the ponds are extremely joyful. Millions of pied cuckoos (papeehe) wander about, losing the scorching heat of summer.

कवि कहते हैं - देखो, ये सारे मोर वन में नाच रहे हैं। मेंढक भी अपने प्यारे गीत गाकर सबको मोहित कर रहे हैं। कैसा सुंदर गुलाब खिल रहा है, जिसकी खुशबू चारों ओर फैल रही है। बागों में खूब सुख और आनंद (आमोद) छाया हुआ है।

The poet says - look, all these peacocks are dancing in the forest. The frogs too are charming everyone, singing their sweet songs. What a rose is blooming, spreading its fragrance all around! The gardens are filled with great joy and delight (aamod).

कहीं दूर हंस सुंदर कतार बाँधकर चल रहे हैं। किसान भी अपने मन को हरने वाला (मनहर) गीत गा रहे हैं। इस तरह धरती पर वर्षा की बहार बहुत अनोखी है - पूरी दुनिया की शोभा और सुंदरता इसी वर्षा पर निर्भर करती है।

Somewhere far off, geese walk in a neat, bound line. The farmers too are singing a heart-pleasing (manhar) song. In this way, the bloom of the rains is truly unique upon this earth - the beauty of the entire world depends upon it.
