मीरा के पद Meera Ke Pad (Verses of Meera)

मीरा श्रीकृष्ण (नंदलाल) से विनती करती हैं कि वे सदा उनकी आँखों में बसे रहें। उनकी मोहिनी मूरत और साँवली सूरत है, और उनके नैन बड़े-बड़े (विशाल) हैं। उनके होंठों पर अमृत जैसी मीठी बाँसुरी शोभा देती है और सीने पर वैजंती माला सजी है। उनकी कमर पर छोटी-छोटी घंटियाँ और पैरों में नूपुर मीठी आवाज़ करते हैं। मीरा कहती हैं कि उनके प्रभु (श्रीकृष्ण) संतों को सुख देने वाले और भक्तों से प्रेम करने वाले गोपाल हैं।

Meera pleads with Krishna (Nandlal) to dwell forever in her eyes. She describes his enchanting form and dark (saanwri) complexion, his large eyes, the flute at his lips that plays sweet as nectar, and the vaijanti garland on his chest. Tiny bells shine at his waist and his anklets (nupur) make a sweet sound. Meera says her Lord is one who gives happiness to saints and loves his devotees (bhakt vatsal Gopal).

सावन के बादल बरसते हैं, जो मन को बहुत भाते हैं। मीरा कहती हैं कि सावन में उनका मन उमंग से भर गया क्योंकि उन्होंने सुना है कि श्रीकृष्ण (हरि) आने वाले हैं। चारों दिशाओं से बादल घुमड़ते हुए आए हैं, बिजली चमकती है और झड़ी लग गई है। नन्हीं-नन्हीं बूँदों की बारिश हो रही है और शीतल हवा सुहानी लग रही है। मीरा कहती हैं कि उनके प्रभु गिरधर (पर्वत उठाने वाले श्रीकृष्ण) के आनंद और मंगल गीत गाने का समय है।

The monsoon clouds pour down, delighting the heart. Meera says her mind fills with joy in the month of Saavan because she has heard word that Krishna (Hari) is coming. Clouds gather and swell from all four directions, lightning flashes and a steady downpour begins. Tiny raindrops fall from the sky and the cool breeze feels pleasant. Meera says it is time to sing songs of joy and auspiciousness for her Lord Girdharnagar (Krishna, the lifter of the mountain).
