Summary
भावार्थ: मत रो बच्चे, रोते-रोते अभी-अभी तेरी अम्मी की आँख लगी है (वह सो गई है/चल बसी है)। मत रो बच्चे, अभी थोड़ी देर पहले तेरे अब्बा ने अपने ग़म से रुख़्सत ली है (अपने दुख से आज़ादी पा ली है/गुज़र गए हैं)।
Meaning: don't cry, child, from all your crying your mother's eye has just closed (she has fallen into sleep/passed away). Don't cry, child, just a little while ago your father has taken leave from his grief (he has been freed from his sorrow/has passed on).
भावार्थ: मत रो बच्चे, तेरा भाई अपने सपने की तितली के पीछे कहीं दूर परदेस (दूसरी दुनिया) चला गया है। मत रो बच्चे, तेरी बाजी (बड़ी बहन) का डोला (पालकी) किसी और देस (दूसरी दुनिया) चला गया है।
Meaning: don't cry, child, your brother has gone far away to another land, chasing the butterfly of his dream (meaning: he has departed from this world). Don't cry, child, your sister's palanquin has gone to a distant land (meaning: she too has passed on).
भावार्थ: मत रो बच्चे, तेरे आँगन में मुर्दा सूरज को नहलाकर विदा कर गए हैं, चाँद को दफ़नाकर गए हैं (यानी घर के सब बड़े लोग शहीद होकर विदा हो गए)। मत रो बच्चे - अम्मी, अब्बा, बाजी, भाई ही तो तेरे चाँद और सूरज थे।
Meaning: don't cry, child, in your courtyard they have bathed the dead sun in farewell and buried the moon (meaning: all the elders of your household have been martyred and taken away). Don't cry, child - your mother, father, sister, brother were themselves your moon and sun.
भावार्थ: अगर तू रोएगा तो ये सब (माँ, बाप, भाई, बहन, चाँद, सूरज) तुझे और भी रुलाएँगे। लेकिन अगर तू मुस्कुराएगा तो शायद ये सब एक दिन भेस (रूप) बदलकर तेरे साथ खेलने लौट आएँगे।
Meaning: if you cry, all of them (mother, father, brother, sister, moon and sun) will only make you cry more. But if you smile, perhaps one day all of them will return in disguise to play with you again.
