Terms of Service

Lipi (lipi.study) is a learning platform for Indian school chapters, spoken languages, handwriting and the World Heritage library. By creating an account or purchasing a module you agree to these terms.

Accounts

• You must provide a valid email address. Keep your password private; you are responsible for activity on your account.
• Children use Lipi through a profile created and managed by a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms on their behalf.

Module purchases and billing

• Paid modules are monthly subscriptions. In India a module is ₹499 per month plus 18% GST, so ₹588.82 is charged each month through Razorpay; outside India it is £9.99 per month through Stripe. The exact amount is always shown before you authorise payment.
• Access is granted only after the payment is durably confirmed by the payment provider.
• Each module renews monthly until cancelled. Access continues through a successfully paid billing period and includes 500 metered AI credits for that period; unused credits expire after the stated grace window.
• You can cancel before the next renewal. Provider retries and any payment-failure grace are shown in billing status; Lipi does not silently convert a free account into a paid module.
• Refunds are governed by the Refund Policy.

Referral programme

• Every signed-in account has an invite link (lipi.study/join/…). A referral counts when a person who creates their account after opening your link makes their first module purchase, and that purchase clears its 7-day refund window.
• Each counted referral earns you one free month, applied to your next renewal: Stripe subscribers receive a £0 invoice for that month; Razorpay subscribers are charged as usual and the charge is refunded in full within 5–7 working days; the refund is recorded against that charge and any tax document for it is handled by our accounts team. A free month waits until you have an active subscription, and only one is applied per billing period.
• You may earn up to 12 free months in any rolling 12-month period. You cannot refer yourself or your own email address, and an account can be referred only once. If the referred purchase is refunded or fails before the reward has been applied to your subscription, the reward is cancelled; once applied, it stands.
• Rewards have no cash value and cannot be transferred. We may withhold or reverse rewards obtained through fake accounts or other misuse, and may change or end the programme with notice on this page; free months already applied are honoured.

Free content

Free sample chapters and the World Heritage library are provided as-is and may change. Free access never requires a payment method.

Acceptable use

• Content on Lipi is for personal learning. Do not copy, scrape, resell or redistribute lessons, audio or video.
• Do not attempt to bypass access controls or interfere with the service.

Content and accuracy

We align chapters to prescribed board syllabi and verify ordering progressively; where verification is pending we say so in the catalogue. Lipi is a study aid, not a substitute for official board material, and AI-generated help can contain mistakes — model answers and AI replies should be checked against your textbook.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lipi’s liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid in the twelve months before the claim arose. The service is provided “as available”; we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

Termination

You may stop using Lipi at any time. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms. Paid access continues for the period already paid unless terminated for abuse.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at the company’s registered place of business have jurisdiction.
