विनय के पद Vinay Ke Pad

तुलसीदास कहते हैं कि इस दुनिया में श्रीराम जैसा बड़े दिल वाला और दयालु कोई नहीं है, जो बिना किसी सेवा के ही गरीब और दुखी लोगों पर दया करता है। जो ऊँचा पद बड़े-बड़े ज्ञानी साधु कठिन साधना से भी नहीं पा सकते, वही पद राम ने गिद्ध जटायु और भीलनी शबरी को आसानी से दे दिया, और इसे कोई बड़ी बात नहीं समझा। जो धन-संपत्ति रावण ने अपने दस सिर शिव को चढ़ाकर पाई थी, वैसी ही संपत्ति राम ने विभीषण को बड़ी झिझक के साथ (मानो कम लगकर) दे दी। आख़िर में तुलसीदास अपने मन को समझाते हैं कि हे मन, अगर तू हर तरह का सुख चाहता है तो राम का भजन कर, क्योंकि वे दया के सागर हैं और तेरी सब इच्छाएँ पूरी कर देंगे।

Tulsidas says there is no one in this world as generous and merciful as Lord Ram, who shows compassion to the poor and suffering even without any service. The exalted state that great learned sages cannot attain even through the hard effort of yoga and renunciation, Ram easily granted to the vulture Jatayu and the tribal woman Shabari, and did not consider it a great thing. The wealth that Ravan obtained by offering his ten heads to Shiva, Ram gave that same kind of prosperity to Vibhishan, almost with hesitation (as if it were too little). Finally Tulsidas counsels his own mind: O mind, if you want every kind of happiness, then worship Ram, for he is an ocean of grace and will fulfil all your desires.

तुलसीदास कहते हैं कि जिसे राम और सीता प्यारे नहीं हैं, उसे करोड़ों दुश्मनों की तरह छोड़ देना चाहिए, चाहे वह कितना भी प्यार करने वाला अपना क्यों न हो। इसके उदाहरण देते हुए वे कहते हैं कि प्रह्लाद ने अपने पिता को, विभीषण ने अपने भाई रावण को, भरत ने अपनी माँ कैकेयी को, और राजा बलि ने अपने गुरु को छोड़ दिया, और ब्रज की गोपियों ने तो अपने पति तक को छोड़ दिया, और इसी त्याग से वे सब खुशी और भलाई पाने वाले बने। राम से जो प्यार का रिश्ता है वही सच्चा माना जाता है, और जिसमें राम के लिए प्यार नहीं, वह उस सुरमे जैसा है जो आँख में लगाने से आँख ही फोड़ दे, यानी ऐसा रिश्ता नुकसान ही करता है। तुलसीदास का आख़िरी मत यही है कि जिससे राम के चरणों में प्यार बढ़े, वही इंसान हर तरह से भला, पूजने योग्य और जान से भी प्यारा है।

Tulsidas says that anyone to whom Ram and Sita (Vaidehi) are not dear should be abandoned like ten million enemies, no matter how loving and close they may be. Giving examples, he says Prahlad gave up his father (Hiranyakashipu), Vibhishan his brother (Ravan), Bharat his mother (Kaikeyi), King Bali his guru (Shukracharya), and the gopis of Braj even gave up their husbands, and through this renunciation they all attained joy and blessedness. Only the bond of love with Ram is considered true; one without love for Ram is like the collyrium that bursts the very eye, that is, such a relationship is harmful. Tulsidas's final view is that whoever increases one's love for Ram's feet is in every way beneficial, worthy of worship, and dearer than life itself.
