Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how 1EOR Global Private Limited (CIN U72900KA2021FTC155564), the company behind Lipi© (lipi.study™), collects and uses your personal data. We act as the data fiduciary (under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023) and the data controller (under the EU and UK GDPR) for that data. We keep data collection to a minimum and never sell your data.
1. Data we collect
- Account data. When you sign in with Google or Microsoft, we receive and store your name, email address, and a provider account identifier, used to create and identify your account.
- Subscription and payment data. When you subscribe, our payment partners process your payment. We store a customer or subscription reference and your subscription status (for example, active or cancelled), and we receive GST invoice details for tax compliance. We do not collect or store your full card details on our servers; these are handled directly by our payment partners.
- Learning and usage data. We store your learning progress (such as courses started, lessons completed, and scores) so we can show your progress and improve the Service. We also keep limited technical logs (such as a truncated IP address and basic device or browser information) for security and to keep the Service running.
- Messages you send us. If you contact us or submit the feedback form, we keep what you send so we can reply and act on it.
2. Why we use your data
- to provide the Service, your account, and your learning progress;
- to take payment, manage your subscription, and issue GST invoices;
- to respond to your requests and provide support;
- to keep the Service secure and prevent abuse; and
- to meet our legal and tax obligations.
3. Legal bases (GDPR)
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of our contract with you (to provide the Service and process subscriptions), your consent (for example, when you choose to sign in), our legitimate interests (to keep the Service secure and to improve it), and compliance with legal obligations (such as tax and accounting law). Where the India DPDP Act applies, we process your personal data for the lawful purposes described above.
4. Who processes your data (third parties)
We share data only with service providers who help us run the Service, and only as needed:
- Google and Microsoft, for sign-in (OAuth).
- Razorpay, to process payments for customers in India.
- Stripe, to process payments for international customers.
- Zoho, to generate and manage GST invoices and billing records in India.
- Hostinger, our hosting provider, where the Service and its database are hosted.
These providers process your data under their own terms and privacy and security commitments. We do not sell your data and we do not show third-party advertising trackers.
5. Cookies
We use a single first-party session cookie to keep you signed in and to protect form submissions. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party ad trackers.
6. International transfers
Payments for international customers are processed by Stripe, and some of our providers operate outside India. Where personal data is transferred across borders, we rely on the safeguards and contractual protections offered by these providers, consistent with applicable law.
7. How long we keep data
We keep account and learning data for as long as your account is active. Billing and invoice records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data, except where we must retain certain records to meet legal obligations.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you can ask us to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- delete your account and associated personal data;
- withdraw consent or object to certain processing; and
- where the GDPR applies, request a copy of your data in a portable form.
To exercise any of these rights, email care@lipi.study. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Students and minors
Lipi© is used by students, including children. We do not show third-party advertising to anyone. Where the user is a minor, an account should be created and managed by a parent or guardian, and we process a child's data only with parental consent as required by the India DPDP Act. We do not knowingly use children's data for tracking or profiling. A parent or guardian can contact us at any time to access or delete their child's data.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond quickly if an issue arises.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above.
