వీర తెలంగాణ Veera Telangana

తెలంగాణ ఎందరో వీరులకు పుట్టినిల్లు. దుర్మార్గులైన రజాకార్ల అరాచకత్వాన్ని ఎదిరించిన రణభూమి ఇది. తన ఉనికిని కాపాడుకోవడానికి తెలంగాణ ప్రజలు ధిక్కారస్వరం వినిపించారు. కొందరు ఆయుధాలతో, కొందరు అక్షరాలతో పోరాడారు. దాశరథి ప్రత్యక్షంగా పోరాటంలో పాల్గొంటూనే తెలంగాణ ధైర్యసాహసాలను తన పద్యాలలో ప్రశంసించాడు.

Telangana is the birthplace of countless heroes who fought to their last breath for liberation. It was the battlefield that resisted the Razakars' lawlessness. To protect its identity the people of Telangana raised a voice of defiance, some fighting with weapons and others with the weapon of words. The poet-soldier Dasarathi took part in the struggle himself while praising Telangana's courage in his verses.

ఓ తెలంగాణ! నీ పెదవులు ఊదిన శంఖం మహాధ్వని చేయగా, భూమండలమంతా ఒక్కసారి బొబ్బలు పెట్టినట్లు అనిపించింది. ప్రతి దిక్కునా కొత్త ఉదయపు వెలుగు తెల్లవార్చింది. చాలా తరాలపాటు చెడుశక్తుల చేతిలో చిక్కుకున్న నీ ప్రతిభావిశేషాలు ఇప్పుడు విడిపోయాయి; అడ్డంకులు తొలగాయి. మెరుపుతీగల్లాంటి కాంతులతో బ్రతుకు దారులు చూపే మంచికాలం తిరిగి వచ్చింది. అత్యంత స్వచ్ఛమైన, ప్రకాశవంతమైన తొలి సంధ్యా సూర్యుడు ఉదయిస్తున్నాడు.

O Telangana! When the great sound of the conch your lips blew rang out, the whole earth seemed to roar as one, and a new dawn's red light broke across every direction. Mother, your special glories, caught for generations in the hands of evil forces, are now set free and the obstacles have cleared. Times that show the paths of life with the blossoming lightning-vine of light have returned, and the purest, most radiant sun of the first dawn is rising.

ఓ తల్లీ! నీ ఒడిలో కోటిమంది తెలుగు బిడ్డలను నిండుగా పెంచావు. వాళ్లు వయసుకు రాగానే చేతుల్లో కత్తులు ఇచ్చి, యుద్ధం చేసి తమ భుజబలాన్ని లోకానికి చూపమని, నవాబుతో సవాల్ చేయమని చెప్పావు. ఈ తెలుగు రేగడి (సారవంతమైన నేల)లో ఎంత మెరుపు, ఎంత పౌరుషం ఉన్నదో కదా!

O Mother, in your lap you raised a crore of Telugu children to the full. As soon as they came of age you placed swords in their hands and told them to fight, to show the world the strength of their arms, and to challenge the Nawab. How much lustre and valour there is in this fertile Telugu soil!

తెలంగాణలో గడ్డిపోచ కూడా కత్తిగా మారి యుద్ధం చేసింది. జలాలుద్దీన్ (నిజాం పక్షపు దుర్మార్గుడు) పీచమణచడానికి యుద్ధం సాగించింది. ఏం జరుగుతుందో తెలియక లోకమంతా బెదిరిపోయింది. దిక్కుల అంచులు ఇంద్రధనుస్సుల వరుసలతో ఆకాశంలో సయ్యాట (ఆట) లాడాయి.

In Telangana even a blade of grass turned into a sword and waged war, fighting to humble the arrogance of one called Jalaludin. Not knowing what would happen, the whole world trembled. The edges of the directions played in the sky with rows of rainbows.

వీరులు సాహసంతో శత్రువులపై విరుచుకుపడ్డారు. నాలుగు దిక్కులా గండి కొట్టి (అడ్డంకులు బద్దలుకొట్టి) స్వేచ్ఛకు దారి ఇచ్చారు. భూమి అంతటా స్వతంత్ర వారిధార (స్వాతంత్ర్యపు ప్రవాహం) పారడం మొదలైంది; రాజు పాత ఆచారాలు, రివాజులు బూజు పట్టిపోయాయి (పనికిరానివి అయిపోయాయి).

The heroes advanced bravely upon the enemy, breached the walls in all four directions and opened the way to freedom. Across the whole earth the stream of independence began to flow, while the king's old customs and conventions gathered dust and grew worthless.

ఓ తెలంగాణా! నీ బిడ్డలలో రగిలిన వీరత్వపు చలనం ఊరికే పోలేదు. వాళ్లు భూమండలాన్ని తిరిగి ప్రకాశవంతమైన ఉదయసూర్యుణ్ణి పిలిచి దేశమంతటా వెలుగును నింపారు; వీరు నిజమైన పరోపకారులు, తెలుగు యోధులు. మతపిశాచి (మతం పేరుతో దాడిచేసేవారు) తన క్రూరమైన కోరలతో మన భూమిని ఆక్రమించి, మన కంఠాలు కోస్తున్న వేళ, దిక్కు తోచక బ్రతుకే భారమైనప్పుడు కూడా మనవాళ్లు తమ ఆంధ్రత్వాన్ని (తెలుగుదనాన్ని) వదలలేదు; చివరికి యుద్ధంలో గెలిచారు.

O Telangana, the surge of devotion kindled in your sons did not go in vain. They turned the wheel of the world, called the radiant rising sun, and filled the whole land with floods of light; these are true heroes, selfless benefactors, Telugu warriors. Even when the demon of communalism trampled our land with its cruel fangs and cut our throats, even when no direction could be seen and life itself became unbearable, our people did not abandon their Telugu identity, and at last won the war.

కాకతీయుల కంచు గంట మ్రోగిన నాడు కఠిన రాజులకు భయం పుట్టింది. వీర రుద్రమదేవి పరాక్రమం చూపిన నాడు ఆకాశంలో తెలుగు జెండాలు నాట్యం చేశాయి. కాపయ్య నాయకుడు ఎదురు నిలిచిన నాడు పరరాజులకు గుండె దడ పుట్టింది. చాళుక్యుల పశ్చిమ ప్రాంత పాలనలో కల్యాణ ఘంటలు గణగణ మ్రోగాయి. ఇలా గత చరిత్రలో తెలంగాణ ఎన్నో విజయాలను చూసిన వీరభూమి.

On the day the bronze bell of the Kakatiyas rang, fear seized the hard-hearted kings. On the day the brave Rudramadevi showed her prowess, Telugu flags danced in the sky. On the day Kapaya Nayaka stood his ground, the rival kings' hearts shook. Under the Chalukyas' rule of the western regions the bells of Kalyana rang out. Thus through history Telangana has been a land of heroes that witnessed many glorious victories.

నాడూ నేడూ తెలంగాణ శత్రువుల దొంగదాడికి ఎన్నడూ ఓడలేదు, తలవంచలేదు. శ్రావణ మాసపు మేఘం వలె గంభీరమైన గర్జనతో, అట్టహాసంతో నా తెలంగాణ సరైన మార్గంలో ముందుకు సాగిపోతున్నది.

Then and now, Telangana has never bowed or been defeated by the enemy's stealthy attacks. Like the cloud of the Sravana month, with a deep roaring laughter, my Telangana marches forward on its rightful path.
