Yasodhara Kaaviyam is one of the five minor Tamil epics (Ainchiru Kaappiyangal); its author is unknown but is believed to be a Jain (Samana) monk.

நாம் உருவாக்க வேண்டியது எது என்றால், அறத்தை, அதாவது நற்செயலை உருவாக்க வேண்டும்.

If you are to make anything, make virtue: let whatever you do be a good and worthwhile deed.

நாம் நீக்க வேண்டியது எது என்றால், வெகுளியை, அதாவது சினத்தை நீக்க வேண்டும்.

If you are to drive anything out, drive out anger: to remove our bad qualities, anger must go first.

நாம் நோக்க வேண்டியது, அதாவது நாடி அடைய வேண்டியது எது என்றால், ஞானத்தை, அதாவது அறிவை நோக்க வேண்டும்.

If you are to look toward anything, look toward wisdom (jnanam): seek true knowledge without ceasing.

நாம் காக்க வேண்டியது எது என்றால், விரதத்தை, அதாவது மேற்கொண்ட நன்னெறியைக் காக்க வேண்டும்.

If you are to guard anything, guard your vow (viratam): keep faithfully the good path you have taken up.

ஞானம்	மெய்யறிவு, உண்மை அறிவு
விரதம்	தான் மேற்கொண்ட நல்ல நெறி, நோன்பு
ஆக்குக	உண்டாக்குக (வியங்கோள் வினைமுற்று)
போக்குக	அகற்றுக, விலக்குக (வியங்கோள் வினைமுற்று)
சருக்கம்	காப்பியத்தின் ஒரு பகுதி அல்லது அதிகாரம்
