சீவக சிந்தாமணி Seevaka Sindhamani

தென்னை மரத்திலிருந்து நன்றாக முற்றிய தேங்காய் கீழே விழுகிறது. அது விழும் வேகத்தில் பாக்கு மரத்தின் உச்சியில் உள்ள இனிய தேனடையைக் கிழித்து, பலாப்பழத்தைப் பிளந்து, மாங்கனியைச் சிதறச் செய்து, வாழைப்பழங்களையும் உதிர்க்கிறது. இத்தகைய வளம் நிறைந்த ஏமாங்கத நாட்டின் புகழ் உலகின் பல திசைகளிலும் பரவியிருந்தது.

A fully ripened coconut falls from the palm; falling with such force it tears the sweet honeycomb at the top of the areca tree, splits open the jackfruit, scatters the mango, and shakes down the bananas. The fame of such a richly fertile land of Emangadam spread to many directions of the world.

இரந்து கேட்பவர்க்கு 'இல்லை' என்று சொல்லாமல் வாரி வழங்கும் செல்வர்களைப் போன்றது அந்நாட்டின் வெள்ளம். அது உயர்ந்த மலையிலிருந்து செல்வக் குவியலைச் சேர்த்துக் கொண்டு வந்து, ஊக்கமில்லாத ஏழை மக்களுக்கு ஊர்தோறும் வழங்கும் வகையில் நாட்டினுள் விரைந்து பாய்கிறது.

The land's flood is like generous patrons who give freely without ever saying 'no' to those who ask. Gathering heaps of wealth from the high mountains, it rushes swiftly through the land, distributing town by town to the helpless poor.

அழகான கொம்புகளை உடைய ஆண் எருமைகளும், நேரான கொம்புகளை உடைய வலிமையான எருதுகளும் ஒலி எழுப்புகின்றன. அந்த ஒலியைக் கேட்டுப் புள்ளிகளும் வரிகளும் உடைய வரால் மீன்கள் கலைந்து ஓடுகின்றன. அத்தகைய மணம் வீசும் வயலில் உழவர் கூட்டம் வெள்ளம் போல் நிறைந்திருந்தது.

Male buffaloes with curved horns and strong oxen with straight horns make loud sounds; hearing them the spotted, striped vaaraal fish scatter and flee. In such fragrant fields the crowd of ploughmen filled up like a flood.

கருக்கொண்ட பச்சைப் பாம்பு போல நெற்பயிர்கள் தோற்றம் கொண்டுள்ளன. நெற்பயிர்கள் கதிர் விட்டு நிமிர்ந்து நிற்பது, செல்வம் பெற்ற பக்குவம் இல்லாதவர் தலைநிமிர்ந்து நிற்பது போல் உள்ளது. அப்பயிர்கள் முற்றியவுடன் நெற்கதிர்கள் சாய்ந்திருப்பது, தெளிந்த நூலைக் கற்ற நல்லவர்களின் பணிவைப் போல் உள்ளது.

The paddy crops look like green snakes heavy with young. The crops standing erect with their ears resemble newly rich, unrefined people holding their heads high; when ripened the bowing ears resemble the humility of the learned who have mastered clear scholarship.

வளம் நிறைந்த ஏமாங்கத நாட்டில் உள்ள ஊர்களில் நாள்தோறும் கிடைக்கும் உணவு வகைகள் ஆயிரம்; அறச்சாலைகள் ஆயிரம்; மகளிர் ஒப்பனை செய்துகொள்ள மணிமாடங்கள் ஆயிரம்; சோம்பல் இல்லாத கம்மியர் (கைவினைஞர்) ஆயிரம்; திருமணங்களும் ஆயிரம்; தவறாது காவல் செய்யும் பாதுகாவலரும் ஆயிரம்.

In the towns of fertile Emangadam, the daily food varieties number a thousand; the charity houses a thousand; the bright mansions where women adorn themselves a thousand; the tireless craftsmen a thousand; and so the weddings a thousand; and the ever-watchful guards a thousand. Everything was by the thousand.

ஏமாங்கத நாடு, உண்மையான பெருந்தவம் புரிவோர்க்கும், இல்லறம் நடத்துவோர்க்கும் இனிய இடமாகும். நிலையான அறப்பொருளைத் தேடுவோர்க்கும், நிலையில்லாத பொருட்செல்வத்தைத் தேடுவோர்க்கும் உகந்த இடமாகும். நாடுகள் சூழ்ந்திருக்கும் அழகு மிகு சிறப்புப் பொருந்திய ஏமாங்கத நாடு, வானுலகம் வழங்கும் இன்பம் உலகோர் ஏற்கும் வகையில் மண்ணுலகிற்கு இறங்கி வந்தது போல் திகழ்ந்தது.

Emangadam is a fitting place both for those doing great penance and for those leading household life; for those seeking lasting virtue and for those seeking impermanent material wealth. Surrounded by other lands, this beautiful and distinguished land shone as if the joy of the heavens had descended to the earth for the world to receive.
