ஒளியின் அழைப்பு Oliyin Azhaippu

புவியீர்ப்பு விசையை எதிர்த்து விண்ணை நோக்கி வேகமாக மேலே வளர்வதுதான் தாவரத்தின் தனிச்சிறப்பு. வேரை வளர்க்கும் கதிரவன் ஒளியும் காற்றும் நீரும், வேருக்கு வழிவிடும் பாறையும் என எல்லாம் ஒன்றாக இணைந்தே இயற்கையை வளர்க்கின்றன.

It is a plant's unique nature to rush skyward against the force of gravity. The sun's light that nourishes the root, the air, the water, and even the rock that yields to the root, all join together to make nature grow.

போட்டி இல்லாமல் வாழ்க்கையில்லை; வலி இல்லாமல் வெற்றியில்லை. ஒன்றை ஒன்று அடுத்தும் நெருக்கியும் மேலும் மேலும் முன்னேறுவது இயற்கைக்கு மட்டும் அல்ல, வாழ்க்கைக்கும் பொருந்தும்.

There is no life without competition, no victory without pain. To press on, one beside and against another, ever rising, is true not only of nature but of life as well.

சிறிய கமுகுமரம் பிறவி இருளைத் துளைத்து, சூழலின் நிழலை வெறுத்து, முகத்தை உயர்த்தி, விண்ணிலிருந்து வழியும் ஒளியாகிய அமுதைத் தேடிப் போகிறது. கதிரவனின் கோடிக்கணக்கான ஒளிக்கதிர்களாகிய விரல்களின் அழைப்புக்கு இணங்கி, தன் உடலை நீட்டி வளைத்து வளர்கிறது.

Piercing the darkness of its birth, spurning the shadow of its surroundings, lifting its face, it goes seeking the nectar of light that streams from the sky; answering the call of the sun's countless finger-like rays, it stretches and bends its body and grows.

அமுதம் போன்ற ஒளியை நம்பி, அதை வேண்டிக் கேட்டு, பெரிய மரத்துடன் சிறிய கமுகு போட்டியிடுகிறது. இதுவே வாழ்க்கைப் போர். முட்டி மோதும் துணிவே இன்பம்; உயிரின் முயற்சியே வாழ்வின் மலர்ச்சி.

Trusting in the nectar, beseeching the light, the small areca palm competes with the great tree. That itself is the battle of life. The courage to butt and clash is joy; the very striving of a living thing is the flowering of life.
