கிளிக்கு இறக்கை இருக்கும் வரை கிழக்கு வானம் தொலைவில் இல்லை. முளைக்க விரும்பும் விதைகள் முளைக்கத் துடித்தால், அவற்றுக்குப் பூமி எடைதான் இல்லை. ஆற்றல் இருந்தால் எந்தக் குறிக்கோளும் தொலைவில் இல்லை என்பது பொருள்.

As long as the parrot has wings, the eastern sky is not far. If the seeds long to sprout, the earth is no burden to them. To one with ability and will, no goal is out of reach.

பாய்ந்து பரவும் இளம் நதிகளே, வாருங்கள், பள்ளங்களை நிரப்புங்கள். காய்ந்து கிடக்கும் வயல்கள் எங்கும் கதிர்களைச் சுமந்து கொண்டு வாருங்கள். இளைஞர்களே, உலகின் குறைகளை நிரப்பி, பயனை விளைவியுங்கள் என்று அழைக்கிறார்.

O young rivers that flow and spread, come and fill the hollows; bring sheaves of grain to all the dry, parched fields. The youth are likened to rivers, called to fill the gaps and bring forth a harvest.

முன்னோர் சொன்ன பழமொழிகளை வெறுமனே முதுகில் சுமந்து திரிந்தால் போதாது. அவர்கள் சொன்ன கருத்தை வாழ்க்கையில் செயல்படுத்தத் துணிந்தால் துன்பம் வராது. பழைய அறிவைச் செயலில் காட்ட வேண்டும் என்பது செய்தி.

It is not enough merely to carry on our backs the old sayings of our forefathers; if we dare to put their teachings into practice in life, no harm will come. Ancestral wisdom must be turned into action.

பொறுமை, அடக்கம் என்று காட்டப்படும் கட்டுப்பாட்டை மீறாதீர்கள். கூட்டுப்புழுதான் பின்னர் பட்டுப்பூச்சியாக அழகிய கோலம் கொள்கிறது; இதை மறவாதீர்கள். கட்டுப்பாட்டோடு இருந்தால் சிறந்த மாற்றம் உண்டாகும் என்பது பொருள்.

Do not overstep the discipline of patience and self-restraint; do not forget that it is the cocoon-grub that becomes the silk-moth. Through discipline comes a beautiful transformation.

அறிவை மறந்த வெறும் உணர்ச்சி என்பது செயலை இழந்த நெருப்பு போலும். எரிக்கும் தீயை இழந்த செயல், உணர்ச்சியை இழந்த அறிவு போலும். அறிவும் உணர்ச்சியும் இணைந்திருக்க வேண்டும் என்பதே செய்தி.

Emotion that forgets knowledge is like a fire that has lost its action; action that has lost its burning fire is like knowledge stripped of feeling. Knowledge and feeling must go together.

பழையவை எல்லாம் காலாவதி அல்ல; பண்பும் அன்பும் பழமையானவைதாம், அவை என்றும் தேவை. இளைஞர் கூட்டம் அவற்றை ஏந்தி நடக்க வேண்டும். இனமும் மொழியும் புதியனவாய் மலரட்டும் என்பது கருத்து.

Not all that is old is outdated; virtue and love are old, yet ever needed. Let the gathering of youth carry them forward, while our community and our language renew themselves anew.

அறிவியல் என்னும் வாகனத்தின் மீது ஆட்சி செய்யும் தமிழை ஏற்றி நிறுத்துங்கள். கணினியின் உள்ளே கறிகாலனின் பெருமை அனைத்தையும் பொருத்துங்கள். தமிழை அறிவியலோடும் கணினியோடும் இணையுங்கள் என்று அழைக்கிறார்.

Set the ruling Tamil upon the vehicle that is science; fit all the glory of Karikalan inside the computer. He calls for Tamil and the greatness of the Tamils to be placed within science and computing.

எய்யும் வேகத்தில் அம்பைப் போல இருந்த இனத்தை மாற்றுங்கள். ஏவுகணைகளிலும் தமிழை எழுதி எல்லாக் கோள்களிலும் ஏற்றுங்கள். தமிழ் விண்வெளி வரை எங்கும் பரவ வேண்டும் என்பது கவிஞரின் வேண்டுகோள்.

Transform a community that was once like an arrow in mid-flight; write Tamil even on the missiles and carry it up to every planet. Tamil should advance everywhere, even into outer space.
