இந்திரன் முதலான எட்டுத் திசைக் காவலர்கள் ஒன்றுசேர்ந்து ஒரு உருவமாக ஆனதைப் போல், சோழன் சிறந்த முறையில் ஆட்சி செலுத்தினான்.

மாங்காய்களில் மட்டுமே வடு (காயம்) படுகிறது; மக்கள் காயம் அடைவதில்லை. மலர்கள் மட்டுமே பறிக்கப்படுகின்றன; மக்கள் உரிமைகள் பறிக்கப்படுவதில்லை.

It is only mangoes that get blemished; the people are never harmed. It is only flowers that are plucked; the people's rights are never seized.

கொடிகளை உடையனவாய் (கொடியவாய்) காடுகளே உள்ளன; மக்கள் கொடியவராய் இல்லை. தேன் (கள்) உண்பன வண்டுகளே; மக்கள் கள் உண்பதில்லை.

It is the groves that bear creepers (are 'kodi-yana'); the people are never cruel. It is only bees that drink nectar (kal); the people never drink toddy.

வெறுமையாய் (உள்ளீடின்றி) இருப்பன மலை மூங்கில்களே; மக்களிடையே வறுமை, பொய் இல்லை. போர் என எழுவன வயலில் நெற்கதிர்களே; வேறு போர் இல்லை.

It is only the mountain bamboo that is hollow (poy = empty/false); among the people there is no falsehood or want. It is only the rising paddy in the fields that 'wars' (rises high); there is no other war.

மருட்சி (கலக்கம்) அடைவன இளமான்களின் கண்களே; மக்கள் கண்களில் மருட்சி இல்லை.

It is only the eyes of young deer that are bewildered (marul); the people's eyes hold no bewilderment.

சினம் காட்டுவர் செவிலித் தாயரே (குழந்தைகளைப் பேணுபவர்); வேறு யாரும் சினம் கொள்வதில்லை. பொருள் (செல்வம்) புலவர் பாட்டில் மட்டுமே பொதிந்துள்ளது; யாரும் பொருளை மறைப்பதில்லை.

It is only foster-mothers who show anger (in chiding children); no one else is angry. It is only in poets' verse that wealth/meaning (porul) is stored; no one hoards or hides wealth.

தெருவில் கூடி ஆடிப் பாடுவர் இசைப் பாணரே; தேவையின்றி வேறு யாரும் அவ்வாறு செய்வதில்லை.

It is only the bards (paanar) who gather to sing and dance in the streets; no one else does so without need.

இவ்வாறு அமைதியும் வளமும் நிறைந்த நாட்டை இராசராசன் காக்கின்றான். அவன் நெறியோடு நின்று காவல் காக்கிறான்.

This is the nature of the blessed land Rajaraja guards; standing firm in the path of justice and thinking of nothing but right conduct, he protects it.

தந்தை இல்லாதவர்க்குத் தந்தையாகவும், தாய் இல்லாதவர்க்குத் தாயாகவும், மகன் இல்லாதவர்க்கு மகனாகவும், உலகில் உயிர்களுக்கு எல்லாம் உயிராகவும் அவன் இருக்கின்றான்.

He becomes a father to the fatherless, a mother to the motherless, a son to those without sons, and the very life of all living beings on earth.

கண்ணிற்குக் கிடைத்த பயன் போலவும், மெய்க்குக் கிடைத்த அருள் போலவும், மொழிக்குக் கிடைத்த பொருள் போலவும், முகம் பெற்ற நூல் போலவும் அவன் விளங்குகிறான்; எல்லாத் துறைக்கும் இறைவன் (தலைவன்) போல் அவன் ஆகி, அனைத்தையும் செய்து நடத்துகிறான்.

He shines like the fruit gained by the eye, the grace gained by the body, the meaning gained by speech, and the renowned book given form; like the lord of every domain, he becomes its head and accomplishes all.
