காலக்கணிதம் Kalakkanitham

நான் ஒரு காலக் கணிதம். பயனற்றுக் கிடக்கும் பொருளையும் நான் பயனுள்ளதாக மாற்றி வைப்பேன்.

I am a mathematics of time; even what lies useless I will make into something worthwhile.

என்னைப் புகழ்ந்தால் என் உடல் ஒன்றும் கொழுத்துப் பெருத்துவிடாது; இகழ்ந்தால் என் மனம் இறந்துவிடாது. புகழும் இகழும் என்னை அசைக்காது.

If I am praised, my body will not swell; if I am scorned, my mind will not die. Neither praise nor blame can shake me.

இந்த உலகில் நான் புகழுடைய ஒரு தெய்வம் போன்றவன். பொன்னைவிட அதிக விலையுள்ள பொருளே என் செல்வம்.

On this earth I am a glorious power; my wealth is a thing costlier than gold.

இவை சரி என்றால் அதைச் சொல்வதே என் தொழில்; இவை தவறு என்றால் அதை எதிர்ப்பதே என் வேலை.

If these are right, to declare them is my work; if these are wrong, to oppose them is my duty.

படைத்தல், காத்தல், அழித்தல் என்னும் மூன்றும் இறைவனுக்கும் எனக்கும் மட்டுமே தெரிந்தவை என்பதை அறிந்துகொள்! மாறும் உலகின் பெருமையையும் நான் அறிவேன்.

Creating, sustaining and destroying, these three, are known only to God and to me; know this! And I know the greatness of the ever-changing world.

செல்வர்களின் கையில் நான் அடிமையாகச் சிறைப்பட மாட்டேன்; பதவி என்னும் வாளுக்கும் பயப்பட மாட்டேன். எது தீமை, எது நன்மை என்பதை அறிந்தே என் வழியில் செல்வேன்.

I will not be imprisoned in the hands of the rich, nor fear the sword of high office; knowing what is evil and what is good, I will go on my own path.

ஏற்றுக்கொள்பவர் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளட்டும்; குரைப்பவர் குரைக்கட்டும். உள்ளுக்குள் சொல்லப்படும் வார்த்தை (குறை கூறல்) என் உடம்பைத் தொடாது.

Let those who accept, accept; let those who bark, bark. The whispered word behind the back will not touch my body.

தொடக்கமும் நானே, முடிவும் நானே. நான் சொல்வதே நாட்டின் சட்டம். முன்னொரு காலத்தில் கம்பன், பாரதி, தாசன் சொல்லாமல் விட்ட சிலவற்றைச் சொல்ல நான் முற்படுகிறேன்.

I am the beginning, I am the end; what I utter is the law of the land. I strive to say a few things that of old Kamban, Bharathi and Dasan left unsaid.
