Summary
Two appliances can do the same job; the higher-power one does it faster. Unit: watt (W) = 1 joule per second.
P = Fv comes from P = E/t. A 2000 N thrust at 30 m/s gives 60 000 W = 60 kW.
Using Ohm's law (V = IR) it can also be written P = I²R or P = V²/R, whichever fits the data.
A 2 kW heater uses energy four times faster than a 0.5 kW bulb. Energy used = power × time.
