उपन्यास की नायिका; दयाराम की बड़ी बेटी, साँवली व छोटे कद की पर पढ़ाई में प्रथम श्रेणी पाने वाली होशियार लड़की।
The heroine; Dayaram's eldest daughter, dark-complexioned and short, but a bright girl who scores first class in studies.
मीनू के पिता; ईमानदार पर परेशान मध्यमवर्गीय सज्जन जो बेटियों के विवाह और दहेज को लेकर चिंतित रहते हैं।
Minu's father; an honest but worried middle-class man, anxious about his daughters' marriages and dowry.
