नया रास्ता Naya Rasta (Sarg 14–26)

इस उपन्यास की पूरी कहानी (कक्षा 10 वाला भाग) तो आसानी से मिल जाती है, पर सर्ग 14 से 26 तक हर सर्ग कहाँ शुरू और कहाँ ख़त्म होता है, यह कहीं पक्के तौर पर नहीं मिलता। इसलिए नीचे की कहानी को घटनाओं के क्रम के हिसाब से ‘भागों’ में बाँटा गया है (हर भाग किन सर्गों के आस-पास आता है, यह अंदाज़े से बताया गया है)। बातें सही हैं; सिर्फ़ ठीक-ठीक सर्ग की संख्या अंदाज़े की है।

Public study material clearly gives the overall Class-10 arc, but the exact boundary of each individual sarg from 14 to 26 is NOT authoritatively available anywhere. So the story below is broken into event-based ‘parts’ (with an approximate guess of which sargs each part falls near). The facts are verified; only the precise sarg numbers are approximate.

अमित और उसके पिता मायाराम पहले मीनू को पसंद करते हैं, पर पैसे के लालच में मायाराम अमित का रिश्ता सेठ धनीमल की अमीर बेटी सरिता से तय कर देते हैं, क्योंकि वहाँ पाँच लाख का दहेज मिल रहा था। इससे मीनू और उसके घरवालों के दिल को गहरी चोट लगती है। पर मीनू निराश होकर हार नहीं मानती। वह तय करती है कि अब शादी नहीं करेगी और अपने बचपन का सपना, यानी वकील बनना, पूरा करेगी। उसके पिता दयाराम जी उसका साथ देते हैं।

Amit and his father Mayaram first like Minu, but greedy for money Mayaram fixes Amit's match with Sarita, the wealthy daughter of Seth Dhanimal, because of a five-lakh dowry. Minu and her family are deeply hurt. Instead of breaking down, Minu resolves never to marry and to fulfil her childhood dream of becoming a lawyer. Her father Dayaram supports her decision.

मीनू मेरठ जाकर हॉस्टल में रहती है और वकालत की पढ़ाई करती है। उसकी कड़ी मेहनत रंग लाती है; वह तीनों साल प्रथम श्रेणी (फर्स्ट क्लास) में पास होती है। पहले जो मन खुद को कम समझने के भाव से भरा था, वह अब आत्मविश्वास और खुशी से भर जाता है। कुछ ही महीनों की प्रैक्टिस में वह एक जोशीली और इज़्ज़तदार वकील बन जाती है।

Minu goes to Meerut, lives in a hostel and studies law. Her hard work pays off; she passes in first class in all three years. The heart once filled with an inferiority complex is now filled with confidence and joy. Within just a few months of practice she becomes a spirited, respected advocate (lawyer).

मीनू की सहेली नीलिमा की शादी सुरेंद्र से होती है, जो अमित का दोस्त है। इसी शादी में मीनू और अमित फिर आमने-सामने आ जाते हैं। वहाँ अमित मीनू के गुण और उसकी कामयाबी देखकर मन ही मन पछताता है कि उसने ऐसी काबिल लड़की को खो दिया।

Minu's friend Neelima marries Surendra, who is Amit's friend. At this very wedding Minu and Amit come face to face again. Seeing Minu's qualities and her success, Amit silently repents that he lost such a worthy girl.

दयाराम जी मीनू की छोटी बहन आशा का रिश्ता दिल्ली के एक इंजीनियर से तय करते हैं। शादी की तैयारी के बीच मीनू मनोहर से मिलती है, जो एक दुर्घटना में विकलांग हो गया है। दयालु मीनू अपनी शादी के फ़िज़ूल खर्च को घटाकर पाँच हज़ार रुपये से मनोहर के लिए दुकान खुलवा देती है। यह उसकी संवेदनशीलता और दूसरों की भलाई करने के गुण को दिखाता है।

Dayaram fixes the marriage of Minu's younger sister Asha with an engineer from Delhi. Amid the wedding preparations, Minu meets Manohar, who has been disabled in an accident. The kind-hearted Minu reduces her own wedding's wasteful spending and uses five thousand rupees to set up a shop for Manohar, showing her compassion and goodness.

अमित की कार का बड़ा एक्सीडेंट हो जाता है और वह अस्पताल में भर्ती होता है। नीलिमा के ज़रिए मीनू को यह ख़बर मिलती है। माफ़ कर देने वाली मीनू पुरानी कड़वाहट भुलाकर अमित से मिलने अस्पताल जाती है। वहाँ अमित अपने मन की बात कहता है और मीनू से माफ़ी माँगता है। दोनों के मन की कड़वाहट साफ़ हो जाती है और ग़लतफ़हमी दूर हो जाती है।

Amit meets with a serious car accident and is admitted to the hospital (medical college). Minu learns of it through Neelima. The forgiving Minu sets aside old bitterness and goes to the hospital to see him. There Amit opens his heart and asks Minu's forgiveness. The bitterness between them is washed away and the misunderstanding clears.

मायाराम अपनी गलती मान लेते हैं और दयाराम जी से माफ़ी माँगकर अमित के लिए मीनू का हाथ माँगते हैं। अब मीनू एक कामयाब, अपने पैरों पर खड़ी वकील है, इसलिए वह किसी पर बोझ बनकर नहीं, बल्कि खुद्दारी के साथ दुल्हन बनकर शादी कबूल करती है। मीनू और अमित की शादी हो जाती है, और मीनू शादी के बाद भी अपनी वकालत जारी रखती है। इस तरह उसके दोनों सपने, अपने पैरों पर खड़ा होना और शादी, पूरे होते हैं।

Mayaram admits his mistake, apologises to Dayaram, and asks for Minu's hand for Amit. Minu is now a successful, self-reliant lawyer, so she marries not as anyone's burden but as a self-respecting bride. Minu and Amit marry, and Minu continues her law practice even after marriage. Thus both her dreams, self-reliance and marriage, are fulfilled.
