नात्यांची घट्ट वीण Natyanchi Ghatt Vin

जन्माला येणारा प्रत्येक माणूस जन्माबरोबरच 'नातं' नावाची एक मोठी माळ घेऊन येतो. त्या माळेत नात्यांचे मणी एकामागोमाग ओवलेले असतात आणि त्यांची एक सुंदर वीण तयार होते.

Every person is born wearing a great garland called 'relationship'; bead after bead of relations are strung on it, and with each new bond the surrounding weave grows stronger.

माणूस जन्मतःच कुणाचा मुलगा, कुणाची मुलगी, कुणाचा भाऊ, कुणाची बहीण, कुणाचा नातू असतो. इथेच त्याची नात्यांच्या विणीशी पहिली ओळख होते; पुढे भेटणारी नवी नाती ती वीण अधिक समृद्ध आणि सुंदर करतात.

A person is born already someone's son, daughter, brother, sister, grandchild; this is the first acquaintance with the weave of relations, and the many new bonds met later make it richer and more beautiful.

प्रत्येक आई मुलाला जन्मानंतरही घडवत राहते; कधी कुंचल्याने हळुवार रंग देत, तर कधी छिन्नीने कठोर घाव घालत. कधी ती ऊबदार शाल असते, तर कधी कणखर ढाल असते आणि बालपणीच्या अंगाईची सुंदर चाल असते.

Every mother keeps shaping the child even after birth, sometimes painting gently with a brush, sometimes striking hard with a chisel; she is at times a warm shawl, at times a sturdy shield, and the sweet tune of childhood lullabies.

'जग' नावाच्या भवसागरात स्वतःचे माणूसपण जपण्याची तारेवरची कसरत प्रत्येकाला करावी लागते. मुलाची वाट कमी खडतर व्हावी म्हणून 'बाप' नावाचे वल्हे हातात धरले जाते; पण त्यासाठी 'संवाद' नावाचा सेतू बांधावा लागतो.

In the ocean of the world each person must balance on a tightrope to keep his humanity; the oar named 'father' is held to make the child's path less harsh, but for that a bridge called 'dialogue' must be built, and then the father's fatherhood is truly felt.

मोठे झालेले मूल पंख पसरून दूर उडून जाते, कधी सातासमुद्रापलीकडे. तेव्हा नातं तुटल्याची वेदना असह्य होते. आईचे अश्रू सर्वांना दिसतात, पण बापाच्या जबाबदारीच्या मुखवट्यामागेही अश्रूच दडलेले असतात; ते उपरण्याने पुसले जातात.

The grown child spreads its wings and flies far, sometimes across the seven seas, and the pain of the parting bond becomes unbearable; a mother's tears are known to all, but behind the father's mask of responsibility too there are tears, wiped away with the cloth on his shoulder.

नवी नाती दोन्ही बाजूंनी जुळावी लागतात. 'मैत्री' हे अतिशय तरल नातं आहे. जगण्यासाठी हितचिंतकाची, मार्गदर्शकाची, गुरूची गरज भासते. शेजारधर्म जुळला तर स्नेह वाढतो, तुटला तर वैर वाढते. आजीचे नातंही विसरता येत नाही.

New bonds must be formed from both sides; 'friendship' is a very subtle bond in which both must dream the same dream. To live, one needs a well-wisher, a guide, a guru; a neighbour-bond, if joined, crosses the limits of affection and, if broken, of enmity, while a bond like a grandmother's can never be forgotten.

तारुण्य संपून वार्धक्याकडे वाटचाल सुरू होते तेव्हा मागे वळून पाहावेच लागते. अहंकार, मान-अपमान, प्रतिष्ठा यांची कात टाकून निखळ मन समोर येते. पिकले पान गळले तरी नवी पालवी फुटते, हा निसर्गाचा नियम; आणि नात्यांचा प्रवास एका घट्ट विणीवर येऊन थांबतो.

When youth ends and old age approaches, one must look back; shedding ego, honour and prestige, a pure, healthy mind emerges. As a ripe leaf falls new shoots sprout, the law of nature; the journey of relations halts at a decisive threshold and an inseparable bond, beyond all relations, is formed, for the weave of relations holds one tight.
