झुळूक The Breeze

कवी कल्पना करतो की तो एक हलकी, मंद झुळूक बनला आहे. मन जिकडे ओढ घेईल तिकडे तो मुक्तपणे फिरेल असे तो म्हणतो. कधी बाजारात, कधी नदीच्या काठावर, कधी बागेत तर कधी एखाद्या जुन्या पडक्या वाड्यामागे तो जाईल. कधी हळूच थांबून चाहूल घेत जाईल, तर कधी रमतगमत चालेल आणि कधी एकदम भरारी घेऊन थेट पुढे निघून जाईल.

At the start of the poem, the poet imagines himself transformed into a soft, gentle breeze, free to drift wherever his heart pulls him. Sometimes he will wander through a marketplace, sometimes along a riverbank, sometimes through a garden, and sometimes behind an old, abandoned mansion. His movement itself varies - sometimes pausing cautiously as if listening for something, sometimes moving leisurely, and sometimes darting off in a swift, direct flight.

झुळूक हळुवारपणे एखाद्या फुलाच्या कळीला बोटाने स्पर्श करते, आणि ती कळी हळूच फुलून जाते. तोपर्यंत झुळूक पुढे निघून गेलेली असते. जाताना ती फुलांचा सुगंधही आपल्यासोबत घेऊन जाते आणि पुढे सगळीकडे तो सुगंध उधळत जाते. वाटेत एखादी गोड गाण्याची लकेर हरवलेली दिसली, तर झुळूक ती उचलून घेते आणि झऱ्याच्या झुळझुळ आवाजासारखी सगळीकडे पसरवते.

In the next image, the breeze gently touches a flower-bud with her fingertip, and by the time the bud blooms, she has already moved on. As she travels, she carries the flowers' fragrance with her and scatters it freely in every direction. If along the way she comes across a sweet, half-forgotten melody, she picks it up too and spreads it everywhere, like the babbling sound of a stream.

झुळूक हिरव्यागार शेतांवरून आणि निळ्याशार, शांत नदीच्या पाण्यावरून गाणे गुणगुणत, त्या पाण्यावर मऊशार लाटा उठवत पुढे जाते. वाटेत बांबूच्या बनात ती स्वतःच्या स्पर्शाने जणू बासरीसारखा नाद निर्माण करते आणि शेतातल्या कणसांच्या कानात हळूच काहीतरी गुजगोष्टी सांगते.

The breeze then moves across emerald-green fields and over the still, blue river, humming a tune and raising soft, velvety ripples on the water. Passing through a grove of bamboo, her touch seems to produce the sweet sound of a flute, and she is imagined whispering secrets into the ears of the ripening grain in the fields.

झुळूक तळ्यावर बकुळीची सगळी फुले शिंपते आणि किनाऱ्यावर पिकलेली जांभळे हळुवारपणे झाडावरून खाली पाडते. दिवसभर काबाडकष्ट करून थकलेला कोणी दिसला, तर झुळूक त्याच्या चेहऱ्याला हलकेच स्पर्श करून त्याला ताजेतवाने करते.

During this free-spirited wandering, the breeze scatters bakul flowers over a pond and gently shakes ripe jamun (blackberry) fruit down from the trees near the riverbank. If she comes across someone worn out from a hard day's labour, she gently brushes their face, bringing a little freshness and relief.

अशा प्रकारे मनसोक्त, मुक्तपणे विविध गमतीजमती करत फिरल्यानंतर झुळूक शेवटी संध्याकाळी विसावा घेण्यासाठी परत येईल, असे कवी सांगतो.

At the close of the poem, the poet says that after roaming freely all day, playing all these little tricks and games, the breeze will finally return in the evening to rest.
