शब्दांचे घर The House of Words

कवी कल्पना करतात की शब्दांचे एक सुंदर घर आहे. त्या घरात हळवे स्वर राहतात, तसेच काना, मात्रा, वेलांटी यांचाही मेळ आहे. सगळी अक्षरे एकोप्याने एकत्र खेळतात आणि विरामचिन्हेसुद्धा त्यांच्यासोबत असतात.

In the first stanza the poet introduces the house of words and its members. Gentle-natured vowels dwell here, and marks like kana, matra and velanti live alongside them in harmony. All the letters play together in unity, and punctuation marks too keep them constant company.

कवी सांगतात की या घरात कधी एखाद्याची छोटी नाराजी झाली तरी ती हवीहवीशी वाटते. प्रत्येकाचा अर्थ वेगळा असला तरी सगळ्यांना एकमेकांच्या सुखदुःखाची जाणीव आहे. त्यांच्यातील अंतर प्रेमाने मिटवण्यासाठी रेघांचे छप्पर आहे.

In the second stanza the poet speaks of the affectionate bond among the household's members. Here even a slight sulk feels sweet, because although each carries a different meaning, all share the understanding to sense one another's feelings. The line drawn by the pen becomes a shelter that lovingly fills the gap between two words.

शेवटच्या कडव्यात कवी सांगतात की जेव्हा हे शब्द एकमेकांच्या कानात कुजबुजतात, तेव्हा त्यातून एक नाजूक अंकुर फुटतो आणि सर्वांना कवितेची गोडी लागते. यातून तयार होणारे गाणे सगळीकडे मनामनांत झिरपत राहते.

In the final stanza the poet tells us that the words in this house begin to converse softly among themselves, and from this gentle exchange a tender shoot sprouts from deep within. From this a liking for poetry is born, and the song that blossoms from it keeps quietly soaking into people's hearts.
