गोपाळचे शौर्य Gopal's Bravery

मोहदी या गावातील शाळकरी मुले जवळच्या एका जुन्या गडावर फिरायला गेली होती. परतीच्या प्रवासात रस्त्यातून जाताना त्यांना समोरच्या टेकडीवर आगीच्या ज्वाळा उठलेल्या दिसतात. गाडी चालवणारा माणूस भीतीने वेग वाढवतो.

Schoolchildren from Mohadi village had gone on an excursion to a nearby historic hill. On the return journey through the mountain pass, they suddenly spot flames rising from the hillside ahead. Startled by the frightening sight, the driver of the bus panics and speeds up, eager to get away from the area quickly.

गाडीतला एक चौदा वर्षांचा मुलगा गप्प बसत नाही. त्याचे नाव गोपाळ. आग विझवलीच पाहिजे असे तो ठामपणे सांगतो आणि गाडी चालत असतानाच बाहेर उडी घेतो. शिक्षक त्याला ओरडून थांबवायचा प्रयत्न करतात, पण तो ऐकत नाही.

But one fourteen-year-old boy on the bus, named Gopal, refuses to sit quietly. He firmly believes the fire must be put out and that any living creature in danger deserves to be saved. Even as he says this, he leaps out of the moving vehicle. The teacher shouts at him to stop, but Gopal's mind is made up.

गोपाळला जवळच्या शेतातून पाणी वाहून नेणारी एक जाड नळी दिसते. तो एकटाच ती नळी उचलून आगीच्या बाजूला ओढत नेतो. त्याचे हे धाडस पाहून बाकीचे विद्यार्थी आणि शिक्षकही धावत येऊन त्याला मदत करू लागतात.

Looking around, Gopal notices a thick pipe in the adjoining field carrying water. Without waiting for anyone, he grabs the heavy pipe himself and, with all his might, begins pulling it towards the fire. Seeing this lone effort, the other students and teachers come running one by one to lend a hand.

याचवेळी वाटेवरचा एक माणूस फोनवरून अग्निशमन दलाला बोलावतो. जनावरे राखणारे काही लोकही मदतीला धावून येतात. शेवटी बंब गाड्या येऊन पाणी मारून आग पूर्णपणे विझते. गोपाळमुळे टेकडी, तिथली झाडे आणि जनावरे राखणारे लोक वाचतात.

Meanwhile, a gentleman passing by on the road immediately alerts the fire department by phone. Some local herders grazing their cattle nearby also rush over to help. Within a short while, fire engines arrive and, with a powerful spray of water, bring the blaze fully under control. Thanks to the courage Gopal showed, the trees on the hill, the grazing cattle, and their herders all remain safe, and the teachers heap praise on his achievement.
