डॉ. गोवारीकर यांचा जन्म २५ मार्च १९३३ रोजी पुण्यात झाला. लहानपणापासूनच त्यांच्या मनात नवनव्या कल्पना यायच्या. तेराव्या वर्षी त्यांनी मोटार बनवण्याची इच्छा मनात आणली आणि थेट अमेरिकेतील हेन्री फोर्डला पत्र लिहिले.

The next part turns to the following stage of his education. After earning a degree in a city in Maharashtra, driven by a hunger to learn more, he went abroad. At a renowned university there he studied engineering related to machinery and chemistry in depth, and afterwards spent time working at an institution devoted to energy research. विक्रम साराभाई यांच्या आग्रहामुळे १९६७ साली डॉ. गोवारीकर भारताच्या अवकाश संशोधन केंद्रात रुजू झाले. तिथे त्यांनी घन इंधनावर संशोधन केले आणि अग्निबाणासाठी घन इंधन बनवण्याचे तंत्र विकसित केले.

The final part tells us what Dr. Gowarikar achieved after returning to India. Because the renowned scientist Vikram Sarabhai insisted, he accepted a position at the nation's space research organisation in 1967. There, taking his own initiative, he built up a new research group studying the energy hidden within solid matter. From this very study he worked out a method for producing the solid-form fuel rockets needed, which later became the backbone of India's entire space programme.
