बाबांचं पत्र Babanche Patra (Father's Letter)

बाबा वैष्णवीला पत्राच्या सुरुवातीला आशीर्वाद देतात. ते सांगतात की खूप कामात अडकल्यामुळे पत्र लिहायला उशीर झाला. आईने त्यांना फोनवरून सांगितले की वैष्णवीचा गणिताचा पेपर कठीण गेला आणि ती खूप रडली.

At the start of the letter the father showers Vaishnavi with blessings. He explains that being completely caught up in work is the reason for the delay in writing. He then mentions that Vaishnavi's mother had phoned to tell him that the half-yearly maths paper had been very hard for her, leaving her upset, and that she had even cried when she came home after the exam.

बाबांना वाटते की फोनवर बोलण्यापेक्षा पत्र लिहून मनातल्या गोष्टी सांगणे जास्त चांगले. म्हणून ते वैष्णवीसाठी खास हे पत्र लिहितात.

In this part the father explains the reason behind his choice. He feels that writing a letter to have a heartfelt conversation with Vaishnavi would work better than speaking over the phone, because a letter allows feelings to be expressed more calmly and in greater detail. With this thought, he sits down to write this letter especially for her.

बाबा वैष्णवीला समजावतात की एका विषयातला पेपर कठीण गेला म्हणजे पुढचेही पेपर कठीण जातील असे नाही. एका विषयात कमी गुण मिळाले म्हणजे आयुष्यात अपयशी झालो असे नाही. त्यांनी तिला गणिताशी मैत्री करायला सांगितले.

In this part the father tries to remove the fear in Vaishnavi's mind. He explains that a difficult maths paper does not mean every subject after it will also feel hard, and dwelling on that thought could actually harm her performance in the remaining papers. He firmly tells her that scoring low marks in one subject does not mean she has failed in life. Finally he advises her to befriend mathematics - to understand its concepts properly and practise regularly - assuring her the subject will soon become her favourite.

बाबा सांगतात की परीक्षेतले गुण महत्त्वाचे असतातच, पण त्याहीपेक्षा आपल्यातले चांगले गुण वाढवणे जास्त महत्त्वाचे आहे. वैष्णवी गोष्टी छान सांगते, चित्रं काढते आणि नृत्यही करते, तिने या कला जोपासाव्यात असे बाबा म्हणतात.

In this part the father shares an important lesson. He says exam marks or grades certainly matter, but developing one's inner qualities matters even more. He praises Vaishnavi's talents - she tells stories well, draws beautiful pictures, and dances gracefully. Having heard from her mother that she has been neglecting these talents lately, he urges her to keep nurturing them, since such arts make life beautiful and help one's personality blossom.

बाबा सांगतात की दिवाळीच्या सुट्टीत ते गावी येणार आहेत. मग ते किल्ले बांधतील, कंदील तयार करतील, गप्पा मारतील आणि फराळ खातील. वैष्णवीसाठी ते तिच्या आवडीची पुस्तके घेऊन येणार आहेत.

At the end of the letter the father shares happy news - he will be coming to the village during the Diwali holidays. Then they will have great fun together, build forts, make lanterns, chat, and share Diwali sweets. When he mentions treats, he playfully reveals what treat he is bringing her favourite kind - books full of stories! He closes the letter saying they will catch up on everything else in person, and signs off as 'your Baba.'
