नाही मुठीमध्ये द्रव्य, नाही शिरेमध्ये रक्त - कष्टाचे सामर्थ्यही नाही. काय करावे कळेना.

The poet has no wealth or physical strength. She cannot fight like a soldier and does not know what to do.

धडाडत्या तोफांतून, धुराच्या कल्लोळातून जिद्दीचे पाऊल पुढे पडते. जवानाच्या शौर्यगाथेपुढे जीव लहान वाटतो.

Through cannons, smoke and bombs the soldier walks forward bravely. Before his valour an ordinary life seems small.

सैनिकाचे औक्षण डोळ्यांतील आसवांच्या ज्योतींनी केले जाते - भरलेल्या अंतःकरणाने.

The poet says the soldier is honoured not with a ceremonial lamp but with the light of tears in the eyes.

अशा असंख्य ज्योतींची तुझ्यामागून राखण; दीनदुबळ्यांचे असे तुला एकच औक्षण - सैनिकांच्या कार्याचा अभिमान.

'Dinaduble' does not mean weak - it means citizens who lack a soldier's strength but feel pride in soldiers' duty.

सीमेवर उभे असलेल्या सैनिकांमुळे आपण सुरक्षित; त्यांच्या पाठीशी उभे राहावे - हा संदेश.

Soldiers sacrifice for the nation's defence so citizens can sleep in peace. We must honour and praise them.
