वस्तू Vastu

कवी म्हणतो, वस्तूंना जीव नसेलही कदाचित, पण त्यांना जीव नसल्यासारखे वाईट वागवू नये. त्यांना मन नसेलही, पण आपण त्यांना मन असल्यासारखे वागवले, तर त्या वस्तू खूप सुखावतात, आनंदी होतात.

The poet says objects may have no life or mind, yet we should not treat them as lifeless; if we treat them as if they have feelings, they are deeply pleased.

वस्तू खरे तर आपल्या निखालस सेवकच असतात, आपली सेवा करतात. तरीही कवी म्हणतो, त्यांना नुसते नोकर समजू नये; त्यांना आपल्या बरोबरीचा मान, आदर द्यावा.

Objects are truly our selfless servants, yet the poet urges that we give them not a servant's place but an equal's respect.

वस्तूंना वेगळी, स्वतंत्र खोली नको असते. त्यांना फक्त एवढीच इच्छा असते की आपण ज्या जागेला त्यांची हक्काची जागा मानले, तिथून त्यांना उचलून बाहेर टाकू नये. त्या जागेची हमी द्यावी.

Objects do not want a separate room; they ask only for the assurance that they will not be evicted from the place we have made their own.

वस्तूंनाही स्वच्छ राहण्याची आवड असते. कवी म्हणतो, ही गोष्ट आपल्या हातांनी लक्षात ठेवावी, म्हणजे आपल्या हातांनी वस्तू नीट, स्वच्छ ठेवाव्यात.

Objects too like to stay clean; the poet says we must remind our own hands to keep them clean.

वस्तूंना जपावे, इतकेच नव्हे तर त्याहीपुढे जाऊन त्यांचे लाडही करावेत. कारण आपण गेल्यावरही, नंतरच्या काळातसुद्धा याच वस्तू आपला स्नेह, आपली आठवण जिवंत ठेवणार आहेत.

We should not just protect objects but even pamper them, for after our time it is these very objects that will keep our love and memory alive.

माणसाचे आयुष्य संपले की त्या वस्तूंना त्यांच्या हक्काच्या घरात राहू दिले जात नाही, त्यांना बाहेर काढले जाते. अशा वेळी निदान कृतज्ञतेने, मनापासून त्यांचा निरोप घ्यावा; त्यांचा हा हक्क मात्र शाबूत ठेवावा.

When a person's life ends, these objects are not allowed to stay in the home that was theirs; at least then, the poet pleads, their right to a grateful farewell should be kept intact.
