भरतवाक्य Bharatvakya

नेहमी चांगल्या माणसांची संगत मिळो, सज्जनांचे बोलणे कानावर पडो. बुद्धीला लागलेला दोष (कलंक) निघून जावो, वाईट विषयांची मुळीच आवड न राहो. सज्जनांच्या चरणकमळांशी, जसा भुंगा कमळात गुंततो तसे माझे मन गुंतो; ते तिथून हटवायचे म्हटले तरी न हटो. देवापासून दूर होताच मन रडो आणि देवाच्या चरित्रात (भगवंताच्या लीलांमध्ये) ते जडून राहो.

May I always have good company and hear the words of the good. May my intellect's blemish fall away and may craving for sense-objects vanish utterly. Like a bee in a lotus, may my mind cling to the feet of the saints and refuse to leave even when pulled away; on parting from the Lord may it weep, and stay fixed on His sacred life and deeds.

माझा निश्चय (दृढ संकल्प) कधीही ढळू नये. दुष्ट माणसांमुळे येणारी विघ्ने व अडचणी टळून जावोत. भजनात माझे चित्त चळू (विचलित होऊ) नये, माझी बुद्धी नेहमी चांगल्या (सत्य) मार्गाकडे वळो. स्वतःचे खरे स्वरूप माझ्या हृदयाला कळो, सगळा खोटा अभिमान गळून जावो. हे मन पुन्हा कधी मलिन (वाईट) होऊ नये आणि आत्मज्ञानाने सगळी पापे जळून जावोत.

May my resolve never waver, and may obstacles caused by wicked people be averted. May my mind not stray during worship, and may my intellect always turn to the right path. May my heart know my true self, may all false pride fall away; may this mind never be defiled again, and may all sin burn up in the fire of self-knowledge.

हे हरि! तुझ्या कल्याणकारी नावांची मालिका माझ्या मुखात (तोंडी) सदैव राहो; ती सगळ्या इच्छा क्षणात पुरवणारी माय (आई) आहे. तीन लोकांत वसणाऱ्या हे देवा, तू जसा आपल्या दासावर कृपा करतोस, तशीच कृपा तुझ्या आश्रयाला आलेल्या भक्तांवर नेहमी प्रकट होवो आणि त्यांना सांभाळो.

O Hari, may the string of Your auspicious names dwell ever on my lips; that very name is a mother who fulfils all desires in a moment. O Dweller in the three worlds, just as You show grace to Your servant, may that same grace always appear over the devotees who take Your refuge and uphold them.
