आकाशी झेप घे रे Aakashi Zep Ghe Re

हे पाखरा, सोन्याच्या पिंजऱ्याला सोडून आकाशात उंच झेप घे. तुझ्याभोवती वैभव, माया आहे आणि रसाळ फळेही खायला मिळतात. त्यामुळे तुझे शरीर सुखाच्या आहारी गेले आहे. अरे वेड्या, असा फुकटचा आसरा तू किती दिवस घेणार?

The poet calls the bird to leave the golden cage, with all its riches, affection and juicy fruit, and soar into the sky. The body has grown soft from comfort; how long will it cling to this dependent shelter?

देवाने तुला पंख दिले आहेत, तेव्हा त्यांच्या ताकदीने मुक्त विहार कर. दऱ्या, डोंगर, हिरवी राने ओलांडून जा आणि नद्या व समुद्रही पार करून दूर उडत जा.

God has given you wings, so fly freely with their strength. Cross the valleys, hills and green forests, and pass beyond the rivers and the sea, going far on your own power.

कष्ट केल्याशिवाय फळ मिळत नाही. हे तुला कळते, पण वळत मात्र नाही. त्यामुळे हृदयात एक वेदना जळत राहते आणि बिचारा जीव गोंधळून, घाबरून का जातो आहे?

Without effort there is no reward. You understand this, yet you do not act on it, and so a pain keeps burning in the heart. Why does the poor soul grow confused and afraid?

घामातून जणू मोती फुलले, म्हणजे कष्टाला सुंदर फळ आले. श्रमरूपी देव घरी अवतरला, घर आनंदाने सजले आणि जीवनात हा सुंदर योग आला.

From sweat, pearls have blossomed, meaning labour has borne beautiful fruit. The god of toil has come home, the house is adorned with joy, and this lovely turn has come into life.
