मातृ मंदिर की ओर Matri Mandir Ki Or

कवयित्री का मन दुखी और परेशान है, क्योंकि देश अभी भी गुलाम है। वह मातृ मंदिर की ओर, यानी भारत माता के पास जाना चाहती है ताकि अपना सुख-दुख माँ को बता सके और अपने मन का बोझ थोड़ा हल्का कर सके। वह भगवान से प्रार्थना करती है कि उसे इस मंदिर की ऊँचाई तक चढ़ा दें।

The poet's heart is sad and pained because the country is still enslaved. She wants to go toward the mother's temple, that is, to Mother India, so she can tell her joys and sorrows to the mother and ease the burden on her heart a little. She prays to God to lift her up to the height of this temple.

मंदिर तक पहुँचने का रास्ता बहुत कठिन है, जहाँ पहुँचना आसान नहीं। ऊँची-ऊँची सीढ़ियाँ हैं जिन पर पैर फिसलते हैं, और रास्ते में रोकने वाले पहरेदार भी खड़े हैं (जो विदेशी राज की रुकावटों की निशानी हैं)। कवयित्री कहती है कि उसके पैर कमज़ोर हैं, इसलिए वह भगवान से कहती है कि वे ही उसे इन सीढ़ियों पर चढ़ा दें।

The path to reach the temple is very hard to travel. There are high steps on which the feet slip, and guards stand in the way to stop her (a symbol of the obstacles of foreign rule). The poet says her legs are weak, so she asks God himself to lift her up these steps.

कवयित्री देखती है कि मंदिर के ऊपर रोशनी जगमग-जगमग पानी रही है, जो आज़ादी की उम्मीद और उजाले की निशानी है। मंदिर में बाजे बज उठे हैं और पूजा का समय आ गया है। वह जल्दी पहुँचना चाहती है पर कमज़ोरी की वजह से घबराती है कि वहाँ कैसे पहुँचूँ, इसलिए फिर भगवान को पुकारती है।

The poet sees lamps glowing brightly above the temple, a symbol of the hope and light of freedom. Musical instruments have begun to play in the temple and the time of worship has come. She wants to reach quickly but, because of her weakness, worries about how to get there, so once again she calls out to God.

कवयित्री कहती है कि माँ का दिल बहुत बड़ा होता है, वह अपने बच्चे की गलतियों पर भी गर्व करती है। माँ की पूजा-वेदी से उसे पुकार सुनाई देती है। वह माँ की आवाज़ सुनकर मरने को भी तैयार है और पक्का इरादा करती है कि उस पवित्र वेदी पर वह कभी ज़ुल्म नहीं होने देगी।

The poet says a mother's heart is very large; she takes pride even in the faults of her child. From the mother's altar she hears a call. Hearing the mother's voice she is even ready to die, and she vows that she will never let any cruelty take place on that sacred altar.

आख़िर में कवयित्री पूरी तरह तैयार है। वह कहती है कि चलो, मैं माँ यानी मातृभूमि के लिए अपनी जान दे दूँ। मातृ मंदिर में फिर से पुकार हुई है, और वह आख़िरी बार भगवान से प्रार्थना करती है कि उसे इस वेदी पर चढ़ा दें ताकि वह देश के लिए अपना सब कुछ कुर्बान कर सके।

In the end the poet is fully ready. She says, come, let me become a sacrifice for the mother (the motherland). The call rings out again in the mother's temple, and one last time she prays to God to lift her onto this altar so that she can give up everything for her country.
