About the author
Siyaramsharan Gupt (4 Sep 1895 - 29 Mar 1963): born in Chirgaon near Jhansi, Madhya Pradesh. Father Ramcharan Kanakne, mother Kaushalkya Bai. Younger brother of national poet Maithilisharan Gupt. Learnt Gujarati, English and Urdu at home. Associated with Mahatma Gandhi from 1929. Major works: Mauryavijay, Anaath, Vishad, Aardra, Aatmootsarg, Mrinmayi, Bapu, Nakul. Awarded Sudhakar Padak by Nagari Pracharini Sabha, Varanasi.
Summary
उद्योगी को सुसमय मिलता है। जो समय नष्ट करे उसे सुख नहीं। आलस ही बहाने बनवाता है। जो करना है अभी करो।
Stanza 1: The diligent always find the right time; wasting time brings no happiness. Laziness creates all excuses. Act now - who knows what tomorrow brings.
समय खोने पर फिर नहीं मिलता। कोई धन समय की बराबरी नहीं कर सकता, फिर भी हम इसकी चिंता नहीं करते।
Stanza 2: Once lost, time never returns - even an emperor cannot buy it back. No wealth can equal time. Yet people don't care about it at all.
समय ईश्वर का दिया अनुपम धन है। पल-पल से ही जीवन बना है। एक पल भी तुच्छ मत समझो।
Stanza 3: Time is God's uniquely precious gift - it IS your blessed life. Never consider even a moment trivial, for life is made of moments.
जो काम करना हो उसमें मन लगाओ। आत्मा पर विश्वास करो। वरना खोने के बाद पछताओगे।
Stanza 4: Focus on the work at hand, trust yourself, banish doubt. When will such a good time come again? Lose it and you will regret it always.
