आज की दुनिया विचित्र, नवीन; प्रकृति पर सर्वत्र है विजयी पुरुष आसीन। हैं बंधे नर के करों में वारि, विद्युत, भाप, हुक्म पर चढ़ता-उतरता है पवन का ताप। हैं नहीं बाकी कहीं व्यवधान लाँघ सकता नर सरित् गिरि सिन्धु एक समान।

Today's world is strange and new; victorious man sits atop all of nature. Water, electricity, steam are bound in his hands. Wind's heat rises and falls at his command. No obstacles remain - man can cross rivers, mountains and seas alike.

यह मनुज, जिसका गगन में जा रहा है यान, काँपते जिसके करों को देख कर परमाणु।

This human, whose spacecraft soars in the sky, before whose hands even atoms tremble.

यह मनुज, जो सृष्टि का श्रृंगार, ज्ञान का, विज्ञान का, आलोक का आगार। व्योम से पाताल तक सब कुछ इसे है ज्ञेय, पर, न यह परिचय मनुज का, यह न उसका श्रेय।

This human who is creation's crown, the storehouse of knowledge, science, light. From sky to netherworld all is known to him. But this is not his true identity; this is not his true glory.

श्रेय उसका, बुद्धि पर चैतन्य उर की जीत, श्रेय मानव की असीमित मानवों से प्रीत; एक नर से दूसरे के बीच का व्यवधान तोड़ दे जो, बस, वही ज्ञानी, वही विद्वान, और मानव भी वही।

His true glory is when the living heart conquers intellect; glory is humanity's boundless love for humans. Whoever breaks the barrier between one person and another - only that person is wise, learned, and truly human.
