ನನ್ನಾಸೆ Nannase

ಬದುಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುವ ತೊಂದರೆಗಳನ್ನು ಗೆಲ್ಲಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಕವಯಿತ್ರಿ ಬಯಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಬೀಸಿ ಬರುವ ಬಲೆಯಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಮುಕ್ತಳಾಗಬೇಕು ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ.

The poet first wishes to overcome life's difficulties and to escape the net that is cast at her, so as to remain free.

ತನ್ನನ್ನೇ ಸುಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಬೆಳಕು ಕೊಡುವ ಬತ್ತಿ ತಾನಾಗಬೇಕು ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಬೇರೆಯವರಿಗೆ ಬೆಳಕು ಕೊಡಲು ತಾನು ತೀರಿಹೋದರೂ ಚಿಂತೆಯಿಲ್ಲ.

She wishes to become the wick that burns itself to give light, ready to spend herself so that others may see.

ಮಣ್ಣಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಣ್ಣಾಗಿ, ಆ ಮಣ್ಣಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಒಂದು ಮರವಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆದು ಜನರಿಗೆ ನೆರಳು ಕೊಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಕವಯಿತ್ರಿ ಆಸೆಪಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.

She longs to merge with the soil and rise from it as a tree, giving shade to good people who come to her.

ಎಂದೂ ಬತ್ತದ, ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಚಿಮ್ಮುತ್ತಿರುವ ಚಿಲುಮೆಯಾಗಬೇಕು ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಬಾಯಾರಿದವರ ದೇಹವನ್ನು ತಣಿಸಿ ಸಮಾಧಾನ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು ಎಂಬುದು ಆಸೆ.

She wishes to be an ever-flowing spring that never dries up, cooling and quenching the bodies of the thirsty.

ಅಳುವ ಮಗುವನ್ನು ನಗಿಸಲು ಅಮ್ಮನ ಬಾಯಲ್ಲಿನ ಜೋಗುಳವಾಗಬೇಕು. ಜನರ ಅಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಹೋಗಲಾಡಿಸಲು ಸರಸ್ವತಿಯ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿನ ಪುಸ್ತಕವಾಗಬೇಕು ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ.

She wishes to be the lullaby on a mother's lips that makes a crying child smile, and the book in the hand of Saraswati that removes human ignorance.

ಸಂಜೆ ಹೊತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ದಿಕ್ಕಿಲ್ಲದೆ ನರಳುವ ಬಡವರಿಗೆ, ಅಸಹಾಯಕರಿಗೆ ಆಸರೆಯಾಗುವ ಊರುಗೋಲು ತಾನಾಗಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಬಯಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.

She wishes to be the walking-stick that supports the helpless and destitute who groan, lost and without direction, at the threshold of dusk.

ನೆಲಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿದ್ದು ಬೇರೆಯವರಿಗೆ ಭಾರವಾಗುವ ಮೊದಲೇ ತನ್ನ ಬದುಕು ಮುಗಿಯಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಕವಯಿತ್ರಿ ಬಯಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಬದುಕಿರುವಷ್ಟು ಕಾಲ ಉಪಯೋಗಕ್ಕೆ ಬರಬೇಕೆಂಬುದೇ ಆಸೆ.

Finally she wishes that her end should come before she falls to the ground and becomes a burden to others: while she lives, she must be of use.
