ಹಕ್ಕಿ ಹಾರುತಿದೆ ನೋಡಿದಿರಾ Hakki Harutide Nodidira

ರಾತ್ರಿ ಕಳೆದು ದಿನ ದಿನವೂ ಬೆಳಗಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಸುತ್ತಮುತ್ತ, ಮೇಲೆ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲ ಕಡೆ, ಕಣ್ಣು ಮಿಟುಕಿಸುವಷ್ಟರಲ್ಲಿ ಗಾವುದ ಗಾವುದ ದೂರ ಹಕ್ಕಿ ಹಾರುತ್ತಿದೆ. ನೋಡಿದಿರಾ?

Night fades and each day dawns; within a single blink the bird flies leagues upon leagues, all around, above and below. The poet hints at the immense speed of time.

ಹಕ್ಕಿಗೆ ಕಪ್ಪು-ಬಿಳಿ ಬಣ್ಣದ ಬಾಲದ ಗರಿಗಳಿವೆ, ಬೆಳ್ಳಗೆ ಹೊಳೆಯುವ ಗರಿಗಳಿವೆ. ಕೆಂಪು, ಹಳದಿ ಬಣ್ಣಗಳ ಎರಡು ರೆಕ್ಕೆಗಳು ಪಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿವೆ.

The bird has black-and-white tail-feathers, bright shining plumes, and two wings of red and gold at its sides. The colours suggest the variety of time.

ಹಕ್ಕಿಯ ಬಣ್ಣ ನೀಲಿ ಮೋಡಗಳ ಆಕಾಶದಂತೆ ಇದೆ. ಆಕಾಶಕ್ಕೇ ರೆಕ್ಕೆ ಮೂಡಿದಂತಿದೆ. ನಕ್ಷತ್ರಗಳ ಮಾಲೆಯನ್ನು ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು, ಸೂರ್ಯ-ಚಂದ್ರರನ್ನೇ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದೆ.

Its hue is like the blue cloud-laden sky, as if the heavens themselves grew wings. Tucking a garland of stars, it has made the Sun and Moon its two eyes. The bird is imagined as vast as the cosmos.

ರಾಜ್ಯ, ಸಾಮ್ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳ ತೆನೆಯನ್ನು ಒಕ್ಕಿ ಹಾಕಿ, ದೊಡ್ಡ ಮಂಡಲಗಳನ್ನು ಗಬಗಬನೆ ತಿಂದು, ಖಂಡ-ಖಂಡಗಳನ್ನು ತೇಲಿಸಿ ಮುಳುಗಿಸಿ, ಬಲಿಷ್ಠ ಚಕ್ರವರ್ತಿಗಳ ನೆತ್ತಿಯನ್ನೇ ಕುಕ್ಕಿಬಿಡುತ್ತದೆ.

Threshing the harvest of kingdoms and empires, devouring great realms, floating and sinking whole continents, the bird pecks even at the heads of sovereign emperors. However mighty, none endure before time.

ಯುಗಯುಗಗಳ ಹಣೆಬರಹವನ್ನು ಒರೆಸಿ, ಹೊಸ ಯುಗಗಳ ಭಾಗ್ಯವನ್ನು ತೆರೆದು, ರೆಕ್ಕೆ ಬೀಸಿ ಜೀವಕ್ಕೆ ಚೈತನ್ಯ ತುಂಬಿ, ಹೊಸಕಾಲದ ಪುಟ್ಟ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಹರಸುತ್ತಾ ಹಕ್ಕಿ ಹಾರುತ್ತದೆ.

Wiping away the destiny written across ages, unveiling the fortune of new epochs, fanning its wings to fill life with vigour, the bird blesses the young children of the new age. Time erases the old and blesses the new generation.

ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ (ಶುಕ್ರ) ಗ್ರಹದ ಊರಿನ ಗಡಿಯನ್ನು ದಾಟಿ, ಚಂದ್ರಲೋಕದ ನೀರನ್ನು ಹೀರಿ, ಆಡಲು ಹಾಡಲು ಹಾರಾಡಲು ಮಂಗಳಗ್ರಹದ ಅಂಗಳಕ್ಕೆ ಏರಿ ಹಕ್ಕಿ ಹಾರುತ್ತದೆ.

Crossing the bounds of the village of Venus, sipping the waters of the Moon-town, the bird soars up to the courtyard of Mars to play, sing and fly. There is a hint here of man's reach into the planets.

ಹಕ್ಕಿ ದಿಗ್ಮಂಡಲಗಳ ಅಂಚನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟಿದೆ; ತನ್ನ ಕೊಕ್ಕನ್ನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಆಚೆಗೆ ಚಾಚಿದೆ. ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾಂಡಗಳನ್ನೇ ಒಡೆಯಲು ಅದು ಎಂಥ ಹೊಂಚು ಹಾಕಿದೆಯೋ ಯಾರೂ ಬಲ್ಲರು?

The bird has touched the rim of the horizons and stretched its beak yet further; who knows what scheme it has laid to one day shatter the universes? The poet wonders at the infinity and mystery of time.
