ગરીબ સુદામા સંકોચ સાથે કૃષ્ણને મળવા દ્વારકા આવે છે.

The poor Brahmin Sudama, full of hesitation, comes to the grand palace of Dwarka to meet his childhood friend Shri Krishna. Seeing his torn clothes and poverty, he wonders whether his friend, now a king, will even recognise him.

કૃષ્ણ સિંહાસન છોડી દોડી આવી મિત્રને પ્રેમથી ભેટે છે.

The moment he sees Sudama, Krishna leaves his royal throne, runs forward and embraces his friend with deep affection. No barrier of wealth or rank comes between them. For Krishna, Sudama is still that same dear boyhood friend.

કૃષ્ણ બોલે છે ને બંને ગુરુ-આશ્રમના દિવસો યાદ કરે છે.

'Then the dark Lord spoke' - Krishna begins to speak, and the two recall the days they spent together in Guru Sandipani's ashram. Their studies, their service to the guru, and the small and big hardships they bore together - all these sweet memories come alive again.

સાચી મૈત્રીમાં અમીર-ગરીબનો ભેદ હોતો નથી.

Krishna's conduct shows that in true friendship there is no divide between rich and poor. Though a king, he does not look down on his friend; instead he honours him with respect and love. Friendship looks at the heart, not at wealth.

સંપત્તિ બદલે તોય સાચા મિત્રનું હૃદય બદલાતું નથી - એ જ સાચી મહાનતા.

This excerpt says that even when wealth and rank change, a true friend's heart does not change. Humility, love and valuing an old friendship - this is a person's real greatness. Premanand conveys this feeling in his flowing, singable akhyan style.
