પુત્રવધૂનું સ્વાગત Welcoming the Daughter-in-Law (Putravadhunu Swagat)

દીકરો નવી પુત્રવધૂને ઘરમાં લાવે છે - સૌ સ્વાગતમાં ઊમટે છે.

The son marries and brings the new daughter-in-law home. The house and courtyard are decorated, lamps are lit, and the family eagerly welcomes the bride. The whole home hums with the thrill of a new bond.

વહુ આવતાં ઘરમાં ઓચ્છવ-ઉત્સવ જેવો આનંદ છવાય છે.

With the bride's arrival a festive (ochhav) mood is created at home. Song and joy, an auspicious atmosphere, and the gladness of every heart - all rise together. The poet sings of this joy, placing it at the centre of celebration.

કવિ વહુને ઘરની લક્ષ્મી - શુભ અને આનંદ લાવનારી - ગણે છે.

The poet treats the daughter-in-law as the 'Lakshmi' of the house - one who brings auspiciousness, prosperity and joy. The bride brings new life, new grace and new feeling into the home. She is embraced not as a daughter of another house but as a part of one's own.
