કાશીમાની કૂતરી Kashima's Dog (Kashimani Kutri)

કાશીમાની કૂતરીને બચ્ચાં થયાં; નાયક એક બચ્ચું પોતાને ઘેર લઈ આવ્યો.

In the village, Kashima had a dog well known to all the neighbours. The dog had pups. The narrator took a liking to one pup and brought it home. Thus began the tie between the household and a tiny creature.

બચ્ચું મોટું થઈ ઘરના સૌનું વહાલું, કુટુંબના સભ્ય જેવું બની ગયું.

The pup that had come home slowly grew up and became dear to everyone in the house. It played, leapt, followed everyone about, and became like one of the family. Though an animal, its presence filled the home with warmth and joy.

કૂતરી અને ઘરના માણસો વચ્ચે બોલ્યા વિના સમજાય તેવો ઊંડો સ્નેહ બંધાયો.

As time passed, such a deep bond grew between the dog and the people of the house that they seemed to understand one another without words. The dog read everyone's moods, and the household tended to its hunger, thirst and well-being. How much love even a mute animal can give is seen in this relationship.

વર્ષોના સ્નેહ પછી કૂતરીના વિયોગે આખા ઘરને ઉદાસ કરી દીધું.

At the end of the tale comes the moment of parting from the dog. To part from a creature with whom years of affection have grown becomes unbearable for the whole household. One animal's loss left the entire home saddened - this event shows both the depth of love and the pain of separation.

માણસ અને પ્રાણી વચ્ચે પણ સ્નેહ સાચો ને ઊંડો હોઈ શકે - એ જ સંદેશ.

The story says that love can be just as true and deep not only between humans but between a human and a mute animal. To show kindness, affection and care to animals is a mark of a good person. Even a small dog can fill a whole home with love and warmth.
