खुले आकाश में In the Open Sky

रानी को एक दिन घर के पास एक घायल पक्षी मिला। उसे बड़ी दया आई और उसने पक्षी को उठाकर घर ले आई। माता-पिता ने हाँ कर दी और एक सुंदर पिंजरे में पक्षी को रखा गया। कुछ दिनों में वह पक्षी ठीक हो गया।

One day, Rani finds an injured bird lying on the ground near her home. Filled with compassion, she picks it up, tends to its wounds, and brings it home. Her parents give permission and the bird is placed in a beautiful cage. Within a few days the bird recovers.

रानी रोज़ पक्षी को खाना-पानी देती और उससे प्यार से बात करती। पक्षी ऊपर से तो ठीक लगता था, लेकिन अक्सर पिंजरे की सलाखें पकड़कर बाहर देखता रहता था। उसकी आँखों में उदासी थी जो रानी समझ नहीं पाती। जब भी खिड़की से कोई पक्षी उड़ता दिखता, यह बेचैन हो जाता।

Rani feeds the bird daily, talks to it lovingly, and considers it her dearest companion. Outwardly the bird seems happy, but sometimes it grips the cage bars and peers outside. A strange sadness lingers in its eyes that Rani cannot understand. Whenever it sees a bird flying past the window, it becomes restless.

एक शाम रानी के पिता ने देखा कि पक्षी बेचैनी से पंख फड़फड़ा रहा था। उन्होंने रानी को प्यार से समझाया कि पक्षियों को उड़ने के लिए बनाया गया है। चाहे पिंजरा सोने का हो, वह उनके लिए जेल है। असली प्यार वही है जो दूसरे की खुशी को अपनी खुशी से ऊपर रखे।

One evening, Rani's father finds her by the cage while the bird flutters its wings restlessly. He gently explains that nature made birds to fly; living free in the open sky is their very nature. Even a golden cage is a prison for them. True love is that which places another's happiness above one's own.

रानी रात भर सोचती रही, पक्षी की उदास आँखें याद आती रहीं। सुबह उसने हिम्मत करके पिंजरे का दरवाज़ा खोल दिया। पक्षी पहले झिझका, फिर धीरे-धीरे बाहर आया, पंख फैलाए और ऊँची उड़ान भरकर खुले आकाश में उड़ गया।

Rani thinks all night, the bird's sad eyes haunting her. Next morning she gathers courage and opens the cage door. At first the bird hesitates, then slowly steps out, spreads its wings, and soars high, disappearing into the open sky.

पक्षी के उड़ जाने पर रानी की आँखें भर आईं, पर मन में शांति थी। उसे लगा कि उसने सही किया। माँ ने बताया कि सच्चा प्यार देने में है, रोकने में नहीं। जो खुद बंधन में खुश नहीं, उसे बाँधना स्वार्थ है। इस अनुभव से रानी को जीवन की बड़ी सीख मिली।

After the bird leaves, Rani's eyes well up with tears, yet there is a strange peace and satisfaction in her heart. She feels she has done the right thing. Her mother explains that true love lies in giving, not in holding back. Binding someone who is not happy in captivity is selfishness. This experience teaches Rani a great lesson about life.
