कपि करि हृदयँ विचार The Monkey Contemplates

हनुमान जी समुद्र के किनारे खड़े होकर मन में सोचते हैं कि इतने बड़े समुद्र को कैसे पार करूँ। वे यह भी सोचते हैं कि छोटे रूप में जाना ठीक रहेगा या बड़े रूप में। वे बहुत समझदारी से सोचते हैं कि क्या करना सबसे अच्छा होगा।

In this verse Hanuman stands at the seashore and contemplates how to cross the vast ocean. He thinks: if he goes in a very small form the demons might capture him; if he goes in a very large form the enemy might learn about the monkey army's plan. Thus he recognises the difficulty of the task and carefully works out his strategy.

हनुमान जी ने अपने शरीर को पहाड़ जितना बड़ा कर लिया। उनकी हर नस में ताकत भर गई। यह ताकत उन्हें राम जी की भक्ति से मिली थी। कवि बताते हैं कि जब भगवान का काम करना हो तो इंसान में जरूरत से ज्यादा ताकत आ जाती है।

In this section Tulsidas describes how Hanuman used his miraculous power to expand his body to the size of a mountain. He infused every fibre of his being with valour and strength. This is his inner power born from devotion and the spirit of service to Shri Ram. The poet shows that when a devotee sets out to do God's work, extraordinary strength is granted to them.

छलाँग लगाने से पहले हनुमान जी ने मन में राम जी का नाम लिया। इतने शक्तिशाली होने के बावजूद वे घमंडी नहीं थे। वे जानते थे कि उनकी सारी ताकत राम जी की कृपा से है। वीरता और नम्रता का यह मेल इस कविता को बहुत खास बनाता है।

The most important moment is when Hanuman, just before leaping, silently takes the name of Shri Ram in his heart. Tulsidas shows that despite having great strength and courage, Hanuman is not arrogant; he credits his power to devotion to Ram. The name of Ram is his greatest strength. This is the finest quality of devotional poetry - that courage and humility walk side by side.

हनुमान जी पहाड़ की चोटी पर चढ़कर बिजली जैसी तेजी से समुद्र के ऊपर से उड़ गए। पहाड़ काँप गया और समुद्र हिल गया। यह छलाँग बताती है कि पक्के इरादे और भगवान पर भरोसे से कोई भी काम मुश्किल नहीं है।

In the final section Hanuman climbs the great mountain Suvel and leaps across the ocean with the speed of a thunderbolt. Tulsidas describes the scene as though a mighty force is flying through the sky. The mountain trembles, the ocean shakes - Hanuman's leap is not just a physical act but the triumph of his resolve to serve Ram. This scene teaches that with firm determination and devotion to God, even the impossible becomes possible.
