भ्रान्तो बालः Bhranto Balah (The Confused Boy)

एक भटका हुआ बालक पाठशाला जाने के समय खेलने निकल गया। किन्तु उस समय उसके साथ खेलने के लिए कोई भी मित्र नहीं मिला।

A confused boy set out to play during the time meant for going to school. But at that hour, not a single companion was available to spend time in games with him.

क्योंकि वे सभी पिछले दिन के पाठ याद करके विद्यालय जाने की जल्दी में थे। आलसी बालक लज्जा के कारण उनके सामने भी न जा सका और अकेला किसी बगीचे में घुस गया।

Because all his friends were hurrying to school, having revised the previous day's lessons. Ashamed, the lazy boy avoided even their sight and entered a garden alone.

उसने सोचा: ये बेचारे किताबों के गुलाम रहें। मैं तो अपना मन बहलाऊँगा। ये बगीचे में रहने वाले जीव ही मेरे मित्र होंगे।

He thought: 'Let these poor slaves of books carry on. I shall amuse myself. Let these garden-dwelling creatures be my companions.'

तब उसने फूलों के बगीचे में जाते हुए एक भ्रमर को देखा और उसे खेलने के लिए दो-तीन बार बुलाया। फिर भी भ्रमर ने उसका निमंत्रण ठुकरा दिया। बार-बार आग्रह करने पर भ्रमर ने गाया: 'हम तो मधु-संग्रह में व्यस्त हैं।'

Then, seeing a bee flying toward the flower garden, he called it two or three times to play. Even so, the bee rejected the boy's invitation. When the boy persisted with repeated stubbornness, the bee sang out: 'We are busy collecting honey.'

तब बालक ने दूसरी ओर देखा और एक गौरैया को अपनी चोंच से तिनके और घास उठाते देखा। उसने कहा: 'अरे, गौरैया के बच्चे! तुम मेरे मित्र बनोगे? आओ, खेलते हैं। यह सूखा तिनका छोड़ दो।'

Then the boy looked elsewhere and saw a sparrow picking up straws and blades of grass with its beak. He said: 'O little sparrow! Will you be my friend? Come, let us play. Leave this dry straw.'

कुछ समय बाद उसे यह बोध हुआ कि सभी अपना-अपना कार्य कर रहे हैं, इसलिए मुझे भी वही करना चाहिए जिससे मेरा समय सार्थक हो।

After some time, he realised that everyone is engaged in their own duty. Therefore he too must do the same, so that his time may be spent meaningfully.
