ग्राम श्री Gram Shri (The Beauty of the Village)

खेतों में मखमल जैसी मुलायम हरियाली दूर-दूर तक फैली है। सूरज की किरणें पड़ने पर यह हरियाली हीरे-सी चमकती है और हवा से लहराते पौधे ऐसे लगते हैं मानो धरती ने हरी मखमल की चादर ओढ़ ली हो।

Velvety green spreads far and wide over the fields. When the sun's rays fall on it, this greenery glitters like diamonds, and the plants swaying in the breeze look as if the earth has draped itself in a sheet of green velvet.

खेतों में गेहूँ और जौ की बालियाँ लहरा रही हैं; सरसों के पीले फूल और अलसी के नीले फूल खेतों को रंग-बिरंगा बना देते हैं। मटर की फलियाँ हँसती हुई-सी लगती हैं। पूरा खेत मानो रंगों का त्योहार मना रहा हो।

Ears of wheat and barley sway in the fields; the yellow flowers of mustard and the blue flowers of linseed make the fields colourful. Pea-pods seem to smile. The whole field looks as if it is celebrating a festival of colours.

गाँव में आम, जामुन, अमरूद और बेर जैसे फल तथा पालक, धनिया, बैंगन, मूली और टमाटर जैसी सब्ज़ियाँ भरपूर हैं। हर ओर हरियाली और फसल की भरमार है; प्रकृति ने गाँव को अपने तोहफ़ों से भर दिया है।

The village abounds in fruits like mango, jamun, guava and berries, and vegetables like spinach, coriander, brinjal, radish and tomato. There is greenery and abundance everywhere; nature has filled the village with its gifts.

गंगा के रेतीले किनारे पर लहरों के निशान साँपों की लकीर जैसे दिखते हैं। वहाँ बगुले और सुरखाब जैसे पक्षी घूमते-फिरते हैं। सर्दी की मुलायम धूप में सारा नज़ारा शांत, साफ़ और मन मोह लेने वाला लगता है, यही गाँव की सच्ची शोभा है।

On the sandy banks (pulin) of the Ganga, the marks of ripples look like the trails of snakes. Cranes and ruddy-sheldrakes (surkhab) move about there. In the soft winter sunshine (him-aatap), the whole scene appears calm, clean and enchanting, this is the village's true splendour.
