राम-लक्ष्मण-परशुराम संवाद Ram-Lakshman-Parshuram Samvad (The Dialogue of Ram, Lakshman and Parshuram)

शिव का धनुष टूटने की खबर सुनकर मुनि परशुराम गुस्से में सभा में आते हैं। श्रीराम बहुत विनम्रता से कहते हैं कि धनुष तोड़ने वाला आपका कोई सेवक ही होगा; वे अपने आप को परशुराम का सेवक कहकर उन्हें शांत करना चाहते हैं।

On hearing that Shiva's bow has been broken, the sage Parshuram comes to the assembly in anger. Shri Ram says humbly that whoever broke the bow must be some servant of Parshuram's; calling himself Parshuram's servant, he tries to pacify him.

परशुराम गुस्से में कहते हैं कि सेवक वही होता है जो सेवा करे; जो शत्रु जैसा काम करे, उससे तो लड़ाई ही होती है। वे अपना फरसा दिखाते हुए बताते हैं कि उन्होंने सहस्रबाहु को मारा और कई बार क्षत्रियों का संहार किया है।

Parshuram angrily says that only one who does service is called a servant; one who acts like an enemy invites battle. Showing his axe, he declares himself the destroyer of kshatriyas and the slayer of Sahasrabahu.

लक्ष्मण हँसते हुए मज़ाक में कहते हैं कि उन्होंने बचपन में ऐसे कई धनुष तोड़े, पर किसी पर इतना गुस्सा नहीं किया; यह पुराना धनुष तो छूते ही टूट गया, इसमें श्रीराम का कोई दोष नहीं। वे परशुराम के फरसे और गुस्से की परवाह न करते हुए निडर होकर बोलते हैं।

Lakshman laughs and taunts that in childhood he broke many such bows, yet no one grew so angry; this old bow snapped at a mere touch, so Ram is not at fault. He speaks fearlessly, giving little weight to Parshuram's axe and rage.

परशुराम का गुस्सा और बढ़ जाता है। वे अपने फरसे को बहुत भयानक बताते हुए लक्ष्मण को चेतावनी देते हैं। वे लक्ष्मण को बालक और नासमझ कहकर डाँटते हैं कि वह अपनी बातों से अपने माँ-बाप को मुसीबत में न डाले।

Parshuram's anger grows. Describing how terrible his axe is, he warns Lakshman. He scolds Lakshman as a foolish child and cautions him not to bring trouble upon his parents through his words.

लक्ष्मण कहते हैं कि वे ब्राह्मण, गाय और देवता पर वार नहीं करते, क्योंकि इन्हें मारकर भी हार ही मानी जाती है। वे मज़ाक में कहते हैं कि परशुराम तो हर बात पर अपना फरसा दिखाते हैं, जैसे फूँक मारकर पहाड़ उड़ा देंगे।

Lakshman says he does not strike a Brahmin, a cow or a deity, for even to slay them counts as defeat. With wit he remarks that Parshuram brandishes his axe at every word, as if he would blow away a mountain with a single breath.

बढ़ते झगड़े को देखकर मुनि विश्वामित्र बीच में पड़ते हैं और परशुराम से बालक की गलती माफ़ करने को कहते हैं। पूरे संवाद में श्रीराम शांत और विनम्र बने रहते हैं और मीठे वचनों से परशुराम का गुस्सा शांत करने की कोशिश करते हैं।

Seeing the dispute grow, the sage Vishwamitra intervenes and requests Parshuram to forgive the boy's fault. Through the whole exchange Shri Ram remains calm and humble, trying with gentle words to soothe Parshuram's anger.
