पद (अब कैसे छूटै राम नाम / ऐसी लाल तुझ बिनु) Pad (Two devotional songs by Raidas)

रैदास कहते हैं कि अब उन्हें राम-नाम जपने की ऐसी लगन लग गई है जो किसी भी हाल में नहीं छूट सकती। भगवान और भक्त का रिश्ता इतना गहरा हो गया है कि दोनों एक-दूसरे में घुलमिल गए हैं।

Raidas says he is now so absorbed in repeating God's name that this devotion can never leave him. The bond between Lord and devotee has grown so deep that the two have merged into one.

वे कहते हैं: भगवान चंदन हैं तो भक्त पानी, जिसके हर हिस्से में चंदन की खुशबू समा जाती है। भगवान बादल हैं तो भक्त मोर, जो बादल देखकर नाचता है। भगवान चाँद हैं तो भक्त चकोर, जो टकटकी लगाकर चाँद को देखता रहता है।

He says: if the Lord is sandalwood, the devotee is water in whose every part the fragrance soaks. If the Lord is the rain-cloud, the devotee is the peacock that dances on seeing it. If the Lord is the moon, the devotee is the chakor bird that gazes at it unblinking.

भगवान दीपक हैं तो भक्त बत्ती, जो दिन-रात जलकर रोशनी देती है। भगवान मोती हैं तो भक्त धागा, जिसमें मोती पिरोए जाते हैं। भगवान सोना हैं तो भक्त सुहागा, जिसके मिलने से सोना और भी खरा (शुद्ध) हो जाता है। अंत में रैदास खुद को भगवान का सच्चा सेवक कहते हैं।

If the Lord is the lamp, the devotee is the wick that burns day and night to give light. If the Lord is the pearl, the devotee is the thread on which pearls are strung. If the Lord is gold, the devotee is borax (suhaga) whose touch purifies gold. Finally Raidas calls himself the Lord's true servant, this is dasya-bhakti, devotion in the servant's mood.

रैदास कहते हैं: हे प्रभु! तेरे बिना मुझ जैसे गरीब पर इतनी कृपा कौन कर सकता है? तू गरीबों पर दया करने वाला है। तेरी कृपा से छुआछूत मिट जाती है, तू छोटे समझे जाने वाले को भी ऊँचा बना देता है।

Raidas says: O Lord, without you who could show such mercy to a lowly one like me? You are the cherisher of the poor (garib-nivaz). Your grace wipes out untouchability, you raise even the lowliest to a high station.

वे कहते हैं कि भगवान जाति-पाँति नहीं देखता। नामदेव, कबीर, त्रिलोचन, सधना और सैनु, ये सब साधारण या नीची मानी जाने वाली जातियों के थे, फिर भी भगवान की कृपा से संसार के दुखों से पार हो गए और बड़े संत बने। रैदास गर्व से खुद को भगवान का सेवक कहते हैं।

He says God does not look at caste. Namdev, Kabir, Trilochan, Sadhana and Sainu all came from humble or so-called low castes, yet by God's grace they crossed the ocean of worldly life and became great saints. Raidas proudly calls himself the Lord's servant.
