मैं भारत की जनता हूँ, अभिमान और विनय से युक्त; वज्र से कठोर, फूल से कोमल।

I am India's people, endowed with pride and humility; harder than a thunderbolt, softer than a flower.

मैं संसार में बसती हूँ, पृथ्वी को परिवार मानती हूँ; प्रिय और श्रेय दोनों चुनती हूँ, अच्छे विवेक से।

I dwell across the world, regard the earth as family, choose both pleasure and welfare with fine discernment.

मैं विज्ञान और ज्ञान की धनी हूँ; साहित्य, कला, संगीत से प्रेम करती हूँ; अध्यात्म-अमृत में स्नान से पवित्र।

I am rich in science and learning, devoted to literature, art and music, purified by bathing in the stream of spirituality.

मेरे गीत, नृत्य और काव्य से सारा जगत मोहित है, मैं रस से भरी भारत की जनता हूँ।

The world is charmed by my songs, dances and poetry, I am India's people, full of aesthetic joy.

मैं उत्सव और श्रम प्रिय, यात्रा प्रिय, खेल-प्रेमी और अतिथि-देवी भारत की जनता हूँ।

I love festivals and labour, travel on foot, delight in folk games, honour guests as deities.

मित्रता मेरा स्वभाव है; दुर्बलता नहीं, मैं संसार को मित्र की दृष्टि से देखती हूँ।

Friendship is my nature, not weakness, I see the world through a friend's eyes.

मैं जगत् में गई, जगत् में देखी जाती हूँ, जगत् में कर्म करती हूँ, कर्मठ भारत की जनता।

I have gone into the world, am seen in the world, work in the world, industrious India's people.
