Shalini comes during summer vacation. All welcome her, but her sister-in-law seems sad.

शालिनी पूछती है, सब ठीक? माला कहती है, हाँ, मैं ठीक हूँ।

Shalini asks if all is well. Mala says she is fine.

राकेश शालिनी को माला के साथ डॉक्टर के पास भेजता है।

Rakesh sends Shalini with Mala to the doctor.

माला बताती है कि वह गर्भवती है और भाई लिंग परीक्षण व कन्या होने पर गर्भपात चाहता है।

Mala says she is pregnant and her brother wants sex-determination and abortion if it is a girl.

शालिनी कहती है, यह घोर पाप है; घर चलो, परीक्षण की जरूरत नहीं।

Shalini calls it heinous and says there is no need for the test.
