بہار Bahaar (Spring)

भावार्थ: बहार का मौसम आ गया है, यह बाग़ों के निखरने का मौसम है। कलियाँ ख़ूब खिल रही हैं और बाग़ की सारी रोशें (रास्ते) महक रही हैं। कलियों की हल्की-हल्की ख़ुशबू पूरे चमन (बाग़) में हर तरफ़ फैली हुई है। चिड़ियाँ प्यारे-प्यारे गीत गाती हैं और चमन के सारे फूल उन गीतों को सुनते हैं।

Meaning: the season of spring has arrived, the season of gardens coming into full bloom. Buds are blossoming everywhere, and every path of the garden is fragrant. The buds' gentle fragrance has spread all through the garden in every direction. Birds sing lovely songs, and all the flowers of the garden listen to them.

भावार्थ: हवा कितनी राहत देने वाली है, मानो जन्नत का दरवाज़ा खुल गया हो। हर आदमी ख़ुश-ख़ुश है, हर चीज़ में बला की दिलकशी (बेहद खिंचाव) है। चाँदनी कितनी दिलचस्प लग रही है, जैसे रौशनी की एक चादर तनी हुई हो। हर दिल में न जाने कितनी उमंग है - सब पर बहार का असर है। सड़कों पर जाने वाले लोग शायर 'अफ़सर' की ग़ज़लें गुनगुना रहे हैं।

Meaning: how refreshing the breeze is, as if the gate of paradise has opened. Every person is joyful, and everything holds an irresistible charm. How delightful the moonlight looks, as if a sheet of pure light has been spread out. There is boundless enthusiasm in every heart - spring's effect is on everyone. People walking along the roads are singing the ghazals of the poet Afsar.
