दुर्बुद्धिः विनश्यति Durbuddhi Vinashyati (Evil Counsel Perishes)

मगध देश में फुल्लोत्पलनाम तालाब था। संकट और विकट नाम के दो हंस और कम्बुग्रीव नाम का कछुआ वहीं रहते थे।

In Magadha there was a lake called Fullotpalanaama. Two swans named Sankata and Vikata and a turtle named Kambugriva lived there as friends.

एक बार मछुआरे आए और बोले कि कल मछलियों और कछुओं को मारेंगे। कछुए ने कहा, मित्रो! मैं दूसरी जगह जाना चाहता हूँ।

Fishermen came and threatened to kill fish and turtles the next day. The turtle asked his swan friends how to escape.

हंसों ने कहा, एक लकड़ी का डंडा पकड़ो, मैं बीच में लटककर उड़ूँगा। कछुए ने कहा, मैं जवाब नहीं दूँगा।

The swans proposed carrying a stick, the turtle would hang in the middle and fly by their wing-power, promising not to speak.

ऐसा करके कछुआ लटकता हुआ उड़ने लगा। ग्वाले दौड़े और बोले, हंसों के साथ कछुआ भी उड़ रहा है! गिरा तो खा जाएँगे।

The turtle flew hanging from the stick. Cowherds ran after them crying that a turtle was flying with swans, they would eat it if it fell.

उनकी बात सुनकर क्रोध में कछुए ने कहा, तुम राख खाओ! और वह गिरकर मारा गया।

Hearing them, the angry turtle shouted "Eat ashes!", fell from the sky and was killed by cowherds.

जो मित्रों की भली सलाह नहीं मानता, वह दुर्बुद्धि लकड़ी से गिरे कछुए की तरह नष्ट हो जाता है।

One who does not heed well-wishing friends perishes like the foolish turtle that fell from the stick.

एक कहानी में बुद्धिमान कौए ने उपाय से सर्प को मारा, उपाय से सब कुछ संभव है।

In the sub-story, a wise crow used a trick to kill a snake, everything succeeds through strategy.
