This nazm is by Muhammad Farooq Deewana. The textbook gives no separate biography for the poet - only his printed name 'محمد فاروق دیوانہ' at the end of the poem, with no birth year, place, or further detail supplied. That honest gap is reflected here rather than inventing facts. The nazm 'Payam-e-Amal' calls on children to serve their nation, work with courage, and not waste their fleeting life in fear or idleness.
Summary
भावार्थ: अगर तुझसे क़ौम की ख़िदमत हो सके, तो यह एहसान (नेकी) उसी पर होता है। तू क्यों दूसरों के डर से मरे-मरे रहता है, क्यों ख़ौफ़ के मारे जान गँवाता है? उठ, कमर बाँध, डर किस बात का! फिर देख ख़ुदा क्या करता है।
Meaning: if you are able to serve your nation, that good deed benefits it directly. Why do you live half-dead from fear of others, why do you perish out of fright? Get up, gird your loins - what is there to fear! Then watch what God does.
भावार्थ: जो अपनी उम्र यूँ ही मुफ़्त में गँवा देगा, वह आख़िर में पछताएगा। बैठे रहने से कुछ हाथ नहीं आता, जो मेहनत से ढूँढेगा वही पाएगा। तो तू कब तक देर लगाएगा - यह वक़्त भी आख़िर बीत जाएगा। उठ, कमर बाँध, डर किस बात का!
Meaning: whoever wastes his life for free will regret it in the end. Nothing comes to one who merely sits; whoever searches with effort will find. So how long will you keep delaying - this time too will eventually pass. Get up, gird your loins - what is there to fear!
भावार्थ: यह दुनिया आख़िर फ़ानी (नाशवान) है, और यह जान भी एक दिन जानी है। फिर तू किस बात पर हैरान-परेशान है? जो दिल में ठान लिया है उसे कर डाल। जब हिम्मत की जौलानी (जोश-रवानी) हो, तो मुश्किल भी आसान हो जाती है। उठ, कमर बाँध, डर किस बात का!
Meaning: this world is ultimately transient, and this life too must go one day. So why be so anxious and confused? Whatever you have resolved in your heart, carry it out. When there is the vigour of courage, even hardship becomes easy. Get up, gird your loins - what is there to fear!
