रलयोषा अपि न्याय्यः Even a small share is fair

यह कथा बताती है कि छोटे जीव मिलकर बड़ा काम कर सकते हैं, थोड़े में भी न्याय होना चाहिए।

Even a small portion should be fair. This Hitopadesha tale teaches that small beings united achieve great things.

गोदावरी के किनारे एक बड़े सेमल के पेड़ पर रोज दूर से पक्षी आकर रहते थे।

On the Godavari bank stood a great silk-cotton tree where birds came daily from far lands to dwell.

एक दिन शिकारी ने चावल बिखेरकर जाल फैलाया और छिप गया। कबूतर लालच से चावल की ओर बढ़े।

A hunter scattered rice grains, spread a net and hid. Pigeons, drawn by greed, approached the grains.

कबूतरों के राजा चित्रग्रीव ने कहा, जंगल में अकेले चावल कैसे? कोई शिकारी होगा, बिना सोचे मत जाओ।

Chitragriva the pigeon-king warned: how can rice appear alone in a deserted forest? A hunter must be near, do not act without thought.

एक कबूतर ने बुजुर्गों की बात न मानी, सब जाल में फँस गए।

One pigeon ignored the elder's words, all were caught in the net.

चित्रग्रीव ने कहा, छोटे भी मिलकर बड़ा काम करते हैं। सब मिलकर जाल उठाकर उड़े, चूहे ने जाल काटा, सब मुक्त।

Chitragriva said: even small beings united succeed. All flew up with the net; the mouse Hiranyaka cut it, all were freed.

थोड़े में भी न्याय तभी जब सब एकजुट हों, बुद्धि और मित्रता से मुसीबत टलती है।

Even a small share is fair when all work together justly. Unity and wisdom overcome danger.
