رباعیات - تلوک چند محروم Rubaiyat - Tilok Chand Mehroom

भावार्थ: क़ुदरत ने जो ख़ुशी हमें दी थी, उसे खो देने पर भी ख़ुद उदास होकर दूसरों को मलूल (रंजीदा) मत करो। यह ज़िंदगी तो हर हाल में गुज़र ही जाएगी - चाहे हँसते हुए गुज़ारो या रोते हुए। इसलिए बेहतर यही है कि हँस-हँसकर इसे गुज़ारा जाए।

Meaning: even if you lose the happiness that nature gave you, do not become sad yourself and thereby sadden others. This life will pass one way or another regardless - whether you spend it laughing or weeping. So it is better to spend it with laughter.

भावार्थ: मज़हब की ज़बान पर तो हमेशा नेकी का पैग़ाम रहता है - अच्छे अमल (हुस्न-ए-अमल) और सच बोलने (रास्त-गोई) का पैग़ाम। फिर मज़हब के नाम पर लड़ाई-झगड़ा कैसा? मज़हब तो हमेशा सुलह-जोई यानी आपस में मिल-जुलकर अमन से रहने का ही पैग़ाम देता है।

Meaning: religion's tongue always carries a message of goodness - a message of good conduct and truthfulness. So how can there be fighting in the name of religion? Religion always gives a message of seeking peace and living together in harmony.
