आम्ही चालवू हा पुढे वारसा Amhi Chalavu Ha Pudhe Varasa (We Will Carry This Legacy Forward)

गीताच्या सुरुवातीला विद्यार्थी सांगतात की गुरूंनी त्यांना ज्ञानाचा एक अनमोल वसा (ठेवा) दिला आहे. हा ज्ञानाचा वारसा आम्ही मोठेपणी पुढे चालू ठेवू, असे वचन विद्यार्थी देतात.

In the opening of the song, the students say that their teachers/gurus have given them a precious inheritance of knowledge. This inheritance is not just bookish learning but also good values and character. The students promise that they will carry this legacy of knowledge forward and enrich it further for the coming generation.

पुढच्या कडव्यात विद्यार्थी मोठ्या माणसांचे आभार मानतात. ते म्हणतात, तुम्ही आमच्यासाठी वडिलांसारखे, भावासारखे आणि जिवलग मित्रासारखे आहात. तुम्ही कल्पवृक्षाच्या सावलीसारखे आम्हांला आधार दिला आणि सूर्यासारखे प्रकाश (ज्ञान) दिला.

In the second stanza, the students address their elders and teachers, saying that these elders are like a father, brother and dear friend to them, and have shown them motherly affection too. Like the shade of a wish-fulfilling tree (kalpavriksha), the elders gave them support and protection, and like the sun they gave them a ray of knowledge and light. Through these comparisons, the students express their gratitude towards their teachers and guardians.

तिसऱ्या कडव्यात विद्यार्थी एक सुंदर उदाहरण देतात. ते म्हणतात, काल जे फक्त एक बी होते, ते आज वेलीवर फुलले आहे. आज जसे फुल आले तसेच पुढे या झाडाला चांगली फळे यावीत, अशी आशा ते व्यक्त करतात. म्हणजेच, गुरूंनी दिलेले शिक्षण आज आमच्यात फुलले आहे, आणि पुढे आमच्या आयुष्यात त्याचे चांगले फळ मिळावे अशी इच्छा आहे.

In the third stanza, the students use the metaphor of a seed, vine and flower to describe their own growth. What was merely a seed yesterday has today blossomed into flowers on the vine. The students wish that these flowers should in future turn into good fruit. This means that the seed of knowledge sown by the teachers has today turned into the flowers of good character, and the students hope it will turn into the fruit of good deeds in the future.

चौथ्या कडव्यात विद्यार्थी म्हणतात, आम्ही धीर धरायला, शूर व्हायला आणि पराक्रमी व्हायला शिकू. त्याचबरोबर मोठे ज्ञान मिळवतानाही आम्ही नम्र राहू. मनात फक्त हाच एक ध्यास (सतत लागलेली आस) असावा, अशी त्यांची इच्छा आहे.

In the fourth stanza, the students resolve to learn patience, courage and valour, while also remaining humble even as they acquire great knowledge. They say they want only one longing in their minds: to keep nurturing these good qualities. This reveals the students' deep yearning for an ideal, well-rounded character.

पाचव्या कडव्यात विद्यार्थी सांगतात, की जर कोणी वाईट वागत असेल, दुष्टपणा करत असेल, तर आम्ही त्याला योग्य ते शासन करू. पण जे चांगले, गुणी लोक आहेत त्यांचे आम्ही रक्षण करू आणि त्यांची काळजी घेऊ. हाच विचार आमच्या मनात कायम राहील, असे ते म्हणतात.

In the fifth stanza, the students express a sense of social responsibility. They declare that if anyone behaves wickedly, they will give due punishment, while they will nurture and protect good and virtuous people. They say this thought is permanently imprinted in their minds. This shows how their teachers have instilled in them a sense of justice and the protection of goodness.

गीताच्या शेवटच्या कडव्यात विद्यार्थी गुरूंना उद्देशून म्हणतात, तुम्ही केलेला त्याग आणि सेवा नक्की फळाला येईल. तुमची कीर्ती (नावलौकिक) चारही दिशांना पसरत राहील. गुरूला ते 'पुण्यवंत, भल्या माणसा' असे प्रेमाने संबोधतात.

In the final stanza, the students glorify the sacrifice and service of their teachers/gurus. They wish that this sacrifice and selfless service will surely bear fruit, and that the teacher's good name and fame will spread in all directions. Addressing the teacher affectionately and respectfully as a 'blessed and good person,' the students conclude the song. This brings their feeling of gratitude towards the guru to its fullest expression.
