Yes. Gujarati has three genders (પુલ્લિંગ, સ્ત્રીલિંગ and નપુંસકલિંગ/neuter) while Hindi has two. Gujarati also uses the ergative marker -e (એ) on the subject in the past tense of transitive verbs, and postpositions ને, થી, નો/ની/નું, માં. These differences are taught explicitly with examples.
