ਸੋਲ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਲ ਬਾਅਦ ਦੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ Education Post-16

ਮੈਂ ਸਿਕਸਥ ਫ਼ਾਰਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਪੜ੍ਹਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

After the age of sixteen, students have a few paths: staying in sixth form to study A-levels, going to college for a vocational course, or starting an apprenticeship. I am planning to stay in sixth form and study science subjects, because I want to become a doctor.

ਕੁਝ ਦੋਸਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੋਕੇਸ਼ਨਲ ਕੋਰਸ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ।

Some of my friends have chosen vocational courses instead of A-levels, because they want to learn practical skills, like engineering or cooking. In my opinion, both paths are equally important.

ਮੇਰੇ ਗੁਆਂਢੀ ਅਪ੍ਰੈਂਟਿਸਸ਼ਿਪ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।

My neighbour has started an apprenticeship at a local company, where they earn a wage while working and gain a qualification. This has worked well for them because they prefer hands-on work to a classroom.

ਫ਼ੈਸਲਾ ਲੈਣਾ ਆਸਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।

Making a decision at sixteen is not easy, and sometimes there is pressure because of family or teachers’ expectations. In my opinion, students should decide according to their own interests.

ਸਹੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਫ਼ੈਸਲਾ ਲੈਣਾ ਸੌਖਾ ਹੈ।

For those who have not decided yet, I would advise them to talk to teachers and research different options. In my opinion, having the right information makes decision-making much easier.
